Just wondering if there's some kind of weird planetary alignment currently given the bizarre news these days. Aside from miltary 'affairs' theres Arafats body being exhumed, text messages falling in the US first time ever, and a NZ man being bailed after pleading not guilty to planning to throw a bucket of horse manure on visiting Prince Charles, following which he says 'there's always next time'....

Oh and not to be forgotten is the story just breaking that Holiday Inn's are being used as jails in China.

How about none of us being on People's Sexiest Man alive list! Talk about a crime!

I just ordered a Mac computer.  I have never been an Apple fan.  Now I'm also not a Dell or PC fan either.  I figure what the heck.  Let's see how the other half lives.  For those who want to know details, I got a MacBook Pro 15" with the super duper Retina display, and

  • 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
  • 16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
  • 512GB Flash Storage

Now all the cool kids will be saying, how come that geezer has a Mac? Is that allowed?  Then, they will find some new yuppy computer to say is the coolest thing yet.

it's kind of like the samsung galaxy sIII ads where the kid is saving space in line for his parents to buy the iPhone5.  one of my fave ads ever.

Morning TAN My plan was to make coffee and catch up on world news, but I now see there isn't much point. Thank you for sparing me. I'll skip being "well-informed" and get right back into my fantastic book. Though the horse manure on Prince Charles story might be worth a look.

That's kinda how I felt... just longingly staring at each drip as if it were a lifeline that I couldn't yet reach.

 

Kate - yum... I "discovered" chai latte's this past summer and love them.  I started making pitchers of iced chai latte sweetened with honey at home, but stopped because I just went through them too fast. I couldn't keep up.

And a 'Hines Ward' is a former cheater with an annoying grin. :-)

I just held the Thermos upside down over the cup to get the very last drop of coffee.  I have been functional though for about an hour already.

Do any of you Chicagoan coffee snobs know about Intelligentsia coffee?  Good stuff.
