Hey TAN! I'm happy today

Is it weird that I'm indifferent to Mac vs PC? I grew up with a die-hard PC Dad, then in elementary school I was in the "era" where Apple pledged to put Macs in every 4th grade classroom, so we had them then. PC in high school at home. College had Macs in the labs. Dad got me a Mac for college graduation and converted himself. Had that FOREVER. Then the most recent one I bought was a PC (Dell) as my employee discount was better for Dell than Mac.

not weird at all.  i would be indifferent if macs were cheaper...all i use my computer at home for is homework (word and excel) and internet browsing.  all i need is a $400 asus PC.  for me, a mac would be a $1200 facebook machine.  i don't game, i don't do photography, i don't watch movies or listen to music on my computer, so i don't really need any of that high performance stuff.

I am kind of the same, I work with both macs and PCs at work so I go from one to the other all the time.

I have a Mac because my main thing I do is photos and photoshop and such. I always used PC's before when I did appraisals mostly because they don't make the software I used for the Mac OS and the MLS and assessors site also didn't jive well with the Mac. I'm screwed now because I can't even work from home doing simple property research or write reports for extra $$$. But my photos sure do look nice.

Use BootCamp or some other emulation package and you can run Windows on your Mac - both worlds in one.

You also have to keep a safe distace from your keyboard or it might get sticky.

I've used Photoshop (and InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) on my PC at work for 10+ years... I didn't know that argument still applied Tongue out

I'd rather fire up the old Dell computer than soil my Mac computer with Windows.

If only the old Dell would fire up.  I have a lot invested in PC software, Matlab, Mathematica, and Designer.  I may put Windows in a disk partition.

Wow I am sync'ed with top of page today.  Maybe I should start counting posts for the start of the next page.

+1 for liquid cooled, overclocked fun!

Building a hackintosh is easy, you just need to stick with components that are known to work.  I haven't built one, but several folks that I game with have simply because it's the most affordable way to get a Mac.

Hi, TAN!

Mac vs. PC vs. the next thing.  I've had my 20 plus years of supporting these dang things and really don't care anymore - just make the friggin' things work better and less prone to malware/virii/etc. and I'll be happier.

I've not had any malware or virii in 6 years on any of my Mac products. . Can't even say that about myself.

On a Mac, most certainly, but it's always good to stay upgraded (java, flash and Reader for certain).

Regarding your personal health, well, I'm quite impressed!  It's good to be living in the Southern region to avoid a lot of these cold and flu seasons like we get.
