Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! Never a dull moment. Wednesday night we were at Caleb's end of season basketball party. We were in the elementary school, in the gym. The boys and their families were all invited, everyone brought food, and the coach had pizza's. Before we ate there were basketball games. Keri hung right in with all the older kids, and the adults. When her game stopped, so people could eat she came over to me and said her belly hurt. I thought maybe because she had been running so hard. I told her to get a drink. She did. She sat with me for a few minutes. I asked her if she was going to go get something to munch on. She said she wasn't hungry. It is rare for those words to come out of the kids mouth. As people finished eating the games started picking up again. Keri said again her belly hurt. I told her maybe we should go to the bathroom, she agreed. Instead of going upstairs and down a long hallway, we cut through the gym and right outside the doors was a restroom. As soon as we walked in the door she jumped in a stall and started vomiting. Before we got out of there she was having diarrhea. Fortunately we had both cars there, so I took her home. She stayed home with me yesterday. I think she's feeling better already though. She had a good dinner, and no more stuff coming out of her. Last night was a rough night for me. I am on-call at work. I ended up spending 2 hours working, from 11 to 1. Just as I was crawling into bed I get a message from a friend of mine that a former co-worker had passed away. He was 48. He had been in the hospital for 6 weeks with double pneumonia and H1N1 flu. There was very little sleeping after that. The funeral is today, but I don't think I'll be able to get there. I may send something though. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have applied for 5 jobs this morning. None of which include being on-call. WOOT! I also found out that a friend of mine just took a position as a project manager for an IT company. He is going to keep his eyes open for something for me. We have worked together before, and he's actually gotten me jobs so I could follow him to where he went. He's a good guy. Hopefully something comes up sometime in the near future, preferably not a contract job, I'm tired of being a contractor. I would like some stability. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! I had my freshly turned 14 year old in at the doctor's yesterday for a scratchy throat he's had since Wednesday. He measured in a 6' tall. He's grown 5" in the past year, and I don't think he's done yet. The funny part is the tallest kid on the senior high varsity basketball team was only 5' 10". There were probably 4 kids on the junior high team taller than that. His pants are a 34" inseam, and I don't think they'll fit him next fall, they are at the top of his shoes. Not quite high water pants yet, but not too far off. OY! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! Another day back in the office. <sigh> It was weird this weekend not having any basketball games to go to. I took the kids, and each of them took a friend, to the movies this weekend. We saw the Lego Movie. It was funny. |

MotoQueen ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ann - Wow, Caleb is one tall young man. I'm looking forward to meeting him and Keri at the end of the month. It is nice to have a "quiet" weekend every now and then. My poor daughter is in the middle of soccer season, 4 kids on three teams. The younger two are on the same team (thank goodness). The older two are on different teams and except for one weekend, it seems when one is away, the other is home. So she and her hubby split up the kids and go in two different directions. I know you understand that feeling. They are also moving from Texas to GA and the movers arrive at their house today to start the packing. Then next Saturday, after the last soccer game, they will be driving the two cars here. We are looking forward to having them close even if it is only for 7 months. They will be two hours away from us, but since it is only for 7 months, they may not get involved with too many kids activities so we might get to see them a lot of weekends. Woot! I will enjoy it while I can. Who knows where they will end up on the next move. I also have a feeling that when he retires from the army in about 3 years (if he does not get riffed in the next year) I have a feeling they will head back to California. They made some really good friends out there. |

I think out of the 9 weekends, only 2 of them were Caleb and Keri playing at the same place. 7 months is awful short for a military stint. Is it for some kind of training? |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() On Saturday, on the way to the movies, I had Caleb, and his friend, and Keri, and her friend. All good kids. They were hilarious. I also got the scoop on who Keri has a crush on, and who has a crush on her. It is ridiculous how much snacks cost at the movies though. 5 drinks, and 2 popcorns cost me more than what the movie tickets did. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good Morning Ghoulies! Ann, sorry the kids are sick. Hope they feel better soon. Amazing how tall Caleb is! Also good luck on the job hunt. The right one is out there. Kendra, how exciting to have them nearby for awhile. I know that you will enjoy it! Robin, hope you are having fun on your trip! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! I've been in the office a little over an hour and I'm ready to go home. This daylight savings time junk has me all messed up. My heart rate is all over the place this morning, and I'm sure it is because my sleep has been messed up for the past couple of days. Bad or no sleep is one of the triggers I've discovered. Keri's basketball pizza party is tonight, and I have to take her because Donnie has volleyball so no rest tonight. It was in the 60's here yesterday, and it is supposed to be that warm again today. Only 32 by Thursday though, but warming back up for the weekend. Most of the snow is melted. Spring is coming. |

Get that heart rate down and under control. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! After 2 days of feeling like absolute crud I am back in the office. Yesterday morning I got up and ready for work. Not feeling great. I knew I needed gas in my car, so I left early and headed in town. As I was sitting at the stop sign where I needed to go straight across to go to the gas station, I got really dizzy, and forgot why I was there. So I went right. Then I remembered why I came in town. So I took a left at the next road and went to the gas station. When I got out of my car I thought I was going to fall down, I was that lightheaded, and dizzy. Then I couldn't remember my pin for my gas card. I got back in the car, and couldn't remember what I was doing. So I went home. I didn't think that driving 50 minutes to work at 3:30 in the morning, when I was in that kind of shape was a good idea. I went back to bed. Donnie woke up and asked me if I was ok. I told him no. He said when he came out of the bathroom after taking a shower that he had to come over to my side of the bed to make sure I was still breathing, because he couldn't see me moving. This has happened before. Fortunately not often. I feel better now. The whole spring ahead time change really messed me up. Lack of sleep always sets off the tachycardia. Would still really like to find a job where I can WFH all the time. Edited by ironannekidd 2014-03-13 6:35 AM |
