Happy Easter everyone. I played tennis today, it was a good match, I lost but my opponents were really good. It was very close.
My only problem, is my right foot is acting up with PF. So I did not run today, I'll try to get in a run tomorrow and see how it goes. Might have to go back to short runs again. bummer.
I had PF several years ago. It got severe enough that it actually caused me to injure my other leg, so I couldn't run for a couple of weeks (this was before I did triathlons, too). In addition to the traditional approach to rehab, my coach recommend the book, Pain Free, by Pete Egoscue.
It has been an amazing asset to my training. Not only did I relieve and get rid of my PF, I was able to eventually get rid of the orthotics I had put in my shoes to support my poor aching foot. I also believe that the exercises have saved me from injury (particularly the overuse kind) on a number of occasions.
The other thing I picked up was the Trigger Point therapy for PF and foot pain to help keep my calves loose and healthy.
Anyway, you can get Pain Free in paperback at any bookstore.
Something to consider.
I have a little PF actually that doesn't stop me from running but that I can still feel here and there. I was thinking about getting the Trigger Point, how did you like it? Is it really worth it?
