ebshot - 2009-06-30 9:47 AM For all our American teammates, what is everyone doing for the 4th of July?

Running the Peachtree Road Race 10K in HOTLANTA, along with 54,499 of my closest friends.  Should be nice and cool!

55,000 people?  Really?  Wow, that's quite a crowd.  Good luck!

x2.  Yikes.  Hope you have some room to run!

Holy smoly that's a lot of people!  I did a race with 5000 last year.  I can't imagine 10 times that many

3 miles is 3 miles running or walking or some combination thereof.  I admire your commitment to the team, cold and all.

Aw, thanks Neal.  I got it done.  Ran 2.5 and decided to walk the last half mile home cause I was feeling overheated and I was at the hill from hell.  When I get overheated, I puke and pass out.  Soooo, I decided to walk.  I made it!!!   100% for me!

And the poison ivy was bearable.

Yea!  We are still rocking the 100%s!

I think walking rather than puking and/or passing out was a good idea.

Holy smoly that's a lot of people!  I did a race with 5000 last year.  I can't imagine 10 times that many

It's really organized -- they have nine time groups all roped off, and they delay the starts.  First group starts at 7:30, last group starts at 8:56.  Fortunately I'm in time group 1, so I'll have cooler temps than the later groups.  But it's still a ton of people.  In the past, I've told people that I ran a 12 mile race -- as much side-to-side running as going forward!

I'm in... but I have no idea if my goals are too lofty or just right for me.  Going for 8 stages and 120 miles... at least I *think* that's what I said!
