Lance Armstrong is planning to do his fourth half Ironman this weekend in Florida. This is his fourth half Ironman in four months. He has another half Ironman and a full Ironman planned for June. Isn't this a lot even for a professional athlete? Thoughts? Why is he doing this? $$$?

Pretty normal for pros to race at least once a month.  He's not after the prize money (he has a massive eal with WTC and also receives appearance fees), he's trying to collect KPR points to qualify for Kona.

Nice -  Thats 3 stage wins in the Giro.  You would never know he's crashed in the final sprint 2 or 3 times.  He's one tough competitor.  Do you like his red livery or his world champions rainbow stripes.  Awesome x3.  Thanks for sending the positive vibes.

Yeah, but this is only a 500 point race and he already has 3 70.3 finishes he can use towards KQ and all of them scored higher. This is more likely about contractual obligations with WTC.

I would believe that based on the fact that registration for next year on Sunday has been cancelled.

Apparently the locals hate the traffic and WTC may want to change the date to replace IMSG and make it less hot.

It's rediculous.  The same locals ran off the PGA Tour as well.  I was there today.  There are 5 or 6 major thoroughfairs into the area.  The race partially shuts down one.  It's not a touristy area so the hotels, food establishments, etc. are making money hand over fist.  I'm baffled.

The people of the Woodlands have NEVER made sense, why should they start now?

I think the problem is they make money hand over fist every weekend (the place was packed when I was there in March).  They can still make money without dealing with the inconvenience of a bike race.

Speaking of crowd support -- I'm thinking about Roth or Copenhagen for 2013.

So yesterday, I hit the pool after work. About 15 mins in I really felt fatigued, and then started to get lightheaded. Tried a few more laps and decided to just get out of the pool. Just didn't feel good at all. Woke up this morning, still fatigued. Decided i really needed a short ZR ride before tomorrows Duathlon. I have pretty much had an easy training week as I wanted to go into this event fresh and really do well.  Diet has been really consistent for a while now. I sit here as I just finished my easy ride, still blah, and not feeling it.

Anyone else get this, and snap out of it? I hope this ZR ride wakes me up shortly. The pool really baffled me yesterday. It's prob stress and my mind.

Maybe you're getting sick?  I always feel fatigued and gross before a full blown virus or something hits.  I hope that's not the case for you, Jeff.  Good luck tomorrow!!!  Kick some a$$!

We bought a house today  After much back and forth we settled on a good price.  I couldn't be happier.

It's been a busy day.  I've been running around, getting stuff done.  I should be resting my legs for tomorrow's HM.  I'm hoping the purchase of the house means I'm going to set a PR tomorrow.  It's warm and beautiful here today.

Congratulations on the house!!! Do you have dates for the closing and such? You must be thrilled to be able to see a light at the end of the moving nightmare!

So this was one FUN weekend.  Friday I got to listen to Chrissie talk.  Something about a British accent.  LOL.  I was going to maybe pick up a book and get it signed but the line for the book signing started at 11:30 and the signing was 1-3, so I decided against it.  She was however handing out medals for the majority of yesterday afternoon/evening.  Pretty cool.

What I learned yesterday:

Mass start isn't that bad, lots of bike volume needed, pace the run right and you can run the whole thing, finishing is super emotional, oh and I learned how to burn 6 hours both with and without kids.

AWESOME!! That sums it up for how the race was. I had and absolute blast and the folks there did a great job and it is great for a first tri. I put up a race report. My only issue really that bothered me was a swim issue where I tapped a persons foot several times to let them know I wanted to pass and they never did so I finally got an opening and just passed them. It took a little out of me but I finished pretty strong I think. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
