no such thing as too old but the ribcage hurts like a bee-yotch.  it's a good spot though cause if you ever have regret as an even older person, it is ALWAYS covered at all times.  no tattoo shame!

Yep, this hurts like a motherEFFER.  But, I'm glad I got it done, and thinking that I want one on the other side of the ribs...

Tattoos are for sailors, vagabonds, harlots, and prisoners....

I need more tattoos... I've been at least three of those four and only have two tattoos.

I'd guess you've never been a vagabond.

Today's high: 90 (plus 30mph sustained winds - feels like my IM training days)
Tomorrow's high: 60

Yesssssssssssssss!! MY son made the 8th grade Bball Team!!!!  I am so excited for him. But on the flip side, this will be the first year I will not be his coach. Sigh, sucks that they have to grow up!

Awesome!  Congrats to him (and you - previous coaches get credit, too!).

Ham is boiled and baking. Apple butter made. Chocolate chip cookies are finished.
Three cheese scalloped potatoes are in the Oven.

Pirates had their ipecac game last night and are crushing the Cardinals today.

I get bored being unemployed, but today has been fun.

PS: I mowed the lawn as well.

So, I just got a phone call from my brother.  He and I are both running the Rock 'n' Roll Cleveland Half tomorrow (he's doing the 3.5 mile mini) and we did packet pickup this morning where they gave us, among other things, Perform BioFreeze gel packets in our swag bags.

Well, he just called to tell me that he thought it was like a Gu, and he ate one ENTIRE thing and it wasn't until he swallowed it that the brain kicked in and told him "hmmm, that ain't right", lol!

Fortunately, according to the folks at Perform, there is no danger from it, but apparently it is going to hurt for him to pewp tomorrow.  I don't know what that's about, but I'm laughing my butt off at him.

Thank you, Darwin, for this

I was laughing at him all night (and everybody else... because I made sure that everyone at the clam bake we went to knew the story ), especially every time he said he would have a menthol burp, until I realized that I came from the same gene pool... then I was kinda deflated.

I'm making the same!  We're rolling with mashed potatoes... hard to go wrong with a classic like that for Sunday dinner.

Seeing you hadn't responded earlier that now, I defaulted to mashed as well! Toss a little blue cheese in there and call it done.

x2 - it's amazing how some people can turn a comment into something so ridiculous - I literally shook my head reading one from this morning already.

Ooooh, marathon week, already?

I felt the same way this morning.  Ran a HM yesterday that just beat me up, and then slept under a warm comforter in cool air.  I was worn out and super-comfy... did NOT want to get out of bed at all this morning.

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
