Yes, I talked my mom into it. Then he talked her into letting him sleep over. i will have the house all to myself tonight!

Morning Ghoulies!  The sun is shining already

I'm going to let it warm up a bit and then slap the race wheels on the bike and take it for a spin before the wind picks up today.  Unfortunately the wind is here to stay through tomorrow, which will make the race that much more enjoyable.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

ironannekidd - 2010-05-21 5:58 AM Good morning Ghoulies!!!

How is everyone in the village doing?

We may have to organize a search party soon for a few of our missing members. Dee, Stacie, KimK, Jules, I know Robin is traveling but we should go kidnap her anyway.

We miss you all. THE VILLAGE is not the same without you!

I'm here kinda...very busy and a bit crabby still! Feel like I am having days of Amy's bad morning! I just can't seem to shake this blah I know not running has a lot to do with it. Went to the DR and he ordered an MRI and an xray along with PT. Saw the PT and he recommended canceling the MRI and xray as he doesn't think I tore anything and the xray will only show arthritis which he doesn't think I have due to my hip movement. I love my PT and should really see him sooner when things start going south! Why do I wait so long? He thinks I will be good to go within 2 weeks. I need to start with walking then after no pain I can slowly add in the running (1-2 min at a time during my walks) So that is good news, I just want to run now! The kids have been really pushing buttons too...they asked about a kitten(hubby dislikes to put it nicely along with being allergic) We were very clear on NO...dd#2 brought one home and hid it in her room for a day! Then fessed up now we need to find a home for her, she is very tiny and hubby is beyond pizzed! We do have a friend and a family member interested but one has to talk her hubby into it the family member is going on vacation and can't take her until after memorial day...we are going out of town then too...uggg I really need that salt rimed glass and maybe even the pill!
So how did those breaths go.....in 2,3,4,5 hold 2,3,4,5 out2,3,4,5....ya no still didn't work!

Sorry to hear this Kim. Yes, deep breaths. In with the good... out with the bad.

I'm with you on the cat thing, and I would be furious if one of my kids did that. We have barn cats and my kids have asked several times if they could have an inside cat. I am not a fan of cats, I'm allergic, and I know who would end up doing all of the work. They can play with them in the barn and in the garage.

Take it easy. Listen to your PT. You'll be back to running in no time.

This is my day so far.

I took my son trout fishing in a stream this morning, the first time he's ever done this. My dad went along with us and between the 3 of us we caught 18 fish,  but only 1 trout.

I had my cell with me, but had it in my fishing pack and wasn't paying attention to it. At one point my husband called and left a message telling me he had an accident with a saw and was wondering if he should go to the hospital. Before I got the message he called again and I picked up then. He told me his mom bandaged up his fingers. I told him we'd be home in less than an hour.

He went over two of his fingers, right at the base of the nail with a circular saw. It isn't deep, but he will lose the nails. He finished what he was doing after his mom patched him up and the bandages were soaked through.

I just redid the bandaging and now I won't let him lift anything with that hand. I have them packed pretty good so it is making it difficult to use that hand. GOOD. So for the next few days I'll have to try and keep them clean and covered for him so he doesn't get an infection. He works on computers so he will be much slower next week, but the college kids are gone so there is less pressure.

Hopefully the rest of the day is less eventful. The kids and I need to drop some stuff off at a friends house later and we may do some geocaching on the way home.

Hey Ghoulies! My personal laptop is now officially dead, and my wife's (which I'm using now) had the wireless card somehow disconnect from the motherboard, so I have no wireless access at my house now. Awesome. So, I don't have time for a proper catch-up session but I wanted to say best of luck to all you racers this weekend! Can't wait for the race reports!

I just did a nice 4 1/4 mile run with a buddy of mine. Well, 1 1/4 solo with a 3 mile tempo run together sandwiched in between. He and I had a nice little arrangement today - I'm a bit faster on downhills and flats, and he was pulling me up the hills so we got to share the workload nicely. He's trying to talk me into a HM in August, but I'm still not sure if I want to do it. We'll see...

Now it's time to continue cleaning house a bit. Can you hear the excitement? You all take care and I'll try to check in again later!

Good evening Ghoulies!

Just got back from running an errand and a bit of geocaching with the kiddos. We were in some state game lands and walked through the woods and some tall grass. I have pulled 20+ ticks off of the 3 of us. Only 1 had started to get dug into the skin. As soon as we walked in the house I sent each kid off to a shower, we were in poison too, but I wanted to give them each the once over to make sure we got all the ticks. As soon as one of them is done it is my turn.

Have a good evening everyone.

Hi all--just a quick drive-by. Thanks for all of the well wishes!!

It was 38 and raining this morning--the tri became a du with a 1-mile run, the 12.6 mile bike, then the original 5k run. I'll stop back by later to give a report of my times, etc. I am tired, sore, and my son is insisting on asking for attention. Just as soon as I logged onto the computer. Kids.

Morning Ghoulies. I am home and ended up having an eventful trip. Ended up in the emergency clinic in Wilmington on Wednesday evening with a high temp. They gave me some sort of shot and kissed me on the forehead and sent me to my hotel to sleep. I made it through teaching my class and then I spent an extra day recovering on the beach. I got home yesterday and I am still not 100% but I am better (Per Monte Python: "I'm not dead yet... I'm getting better".). Tomorrow is I am going back to the Dr and am supposed to go MB riding. No way to catch up on the thread. I hope all the racers did/do awesome. I will be back tomorrow or later this evening.
Have great Sundays all.

Morning everyone.  Ann, hope the hubby is ok. That accident sounded scary.  Donkey Kim, hope the PT is right and you're back on track soon.  If you find a good cure for crabbiness, please share.  Robin, get well soon.  Too many trips to the doctor going on here these days.  Amy, CONGRATS on your Du.  Look forward to hearing all about it.  Melindy, you continue to amaze.  Bill, the big trip is just around the corner.  Very exciting. Neal, push harder.  Oh wait, he's probably already finished by now.  Dee, welcome back.  Tom, when you're done cleaning and cooking out there, I could use some coffee.  I'm sure I've missed something, but that's what I've got this morning.

So Saturday turned into a lovely day.  I rode in the morning with my girl gang.  I wind up riding out and back a lot to check on them as they chat more than pedal.  Actually, it works out fine.  I get more miles in than they want to ride, have peeps on the same route in case something happens, and catch up on their lives. Iced coffee and pastry post ride, then home to clean up and head into the city.  I had a late lunch in the village, did some people watching and got my hair cut.  Impulse mani/pedi on the way back to my car and home before dark.  All in all, a nice girly day.

Not sure what today will bring.  It is getting ready to pour and I'm still in my jams.  Maybe a trainer ride with a movie later this afternoon.   Oh, and a trip to the grocery store for sure.  Slow Sunday.
