People are trying to convince me it's not necessary and may cause more damage. Apparently, there's no "proof" that helmets help in a crash. It's silly. OK...it's one thing to argue that helmets aren't necessary for some riders (which i don't agree with but you can have your silly arguments)...but that the helmet causes more damage? that's just redonkulous. |

Why do governments, governing bodies, etc. spend millions of dollars to test, develop, engineer and build helmets, and in many places require them to be worn? What are they saying to say that they may cause more damage??? |

I've seen the results of not wearing a helmet on a motorcycle and it's not pretty. Slamming your head against concrete or pavement your head will loose, either on a motorcycle or on a bike. |

There's some study that shows that kids who wear helmets are 4 times more likely to get facial injuries or something. |

We may all be talking about different things here. Do helmets make you less likely to get injured while biking? I will concede that, maybe they don't. A helmet won't stop, for example, Crowny's wife from breaking her wrist. It won't stop a kid's face from getting scraped on the ground. It will, however, prevent MAJOR, LIFE ALTERING injuries, like brain damage. This is the ONLY logical argument that I can fathom. |

I'm considering it when it comes to Canada. I just don't know how much I would use it. I'm not much of a reader, but I could see myself doing it more if I had one. I just don't know!!! |

I'm looking at ordering the WiFi only version. My husband has a first gen Kindle with the 3g. We've never used it! Also discovered I can get a $75 giftcard for Amazon using credit card rewards points. That will make it much cheaper!! |

That version doesn't have PDF support (the new one does) and I want to be able to carry my 20 science papers on a Kindle rather than on paper. I'm killing way too many trees. Plus, my husband goes up to DC a few days each week for work and takes his, so it would be nice to have my own. |

I realized least night that my inspection sticker has been expired since june. how is that for being aware of my surroundings, I didnt even realize it until I was talking to a state trooper who was leaning on my truck. our boys are on the same football team, and we were just b.s.ing...then I looked at my windshield and wondered why my registration and inspection had different numbers on them. nice. |
