Rynamite - 2008-06-18 11:27 AM How can Banana Republic charge $30 for a T-shirt? Grrrr.

They have mad sales and coupons. You just have to know how to work their system. I get crazy deals there and very rarely pay full price for anything.

To subsidize the people who get their t-shirts at Old Navy instead.  All of the stuff at Gap, Banana, and Old Navy come out of the same factories.

Yeah, I do too... but still. What I want isn't on sale right now. I think I have some coupons and a $10 voucher I could apply to the stuff. I almost have a silver card, so that'll get me free shipping all the time.

Yup, I caved and got a Banana card about a year ago - spent enough to upgrade to the "Lux" (for free) about 5 months afterwards...eep! I get tons of coupons in the mail and they expire like 2 years from now.

Into the movie house, right?

Yeah. Should have dated her, too, but for some reason never did. She was alright.

We always have those "What If...?" moments.

troof. Mine are usually followed by "F*ck!"

Someday, Mr. Mite.  Someday, when you least expect it.

Yeah, but the bastards put the best looking stuff at Banana Republic and Gap.

True.  Old Navy is very hit or miss.  Although, I really don't like anything at Banana lately either.

Seriously? I was in Banana last weekend and I thought everything was cute. I am seriously holding myself back from going there and dropping like $300 (and of course, getting tons of stuff b/c I have tons of coupons).

Nope.  I haven't bought anything from Banana in about a year.  I mostly shop at J Crew.  Patagonia has a bunch of stuff I think is really cute right now, too.

My wife is the fashion plate, plus is as frugal as they come when it comes to shopping.  I buy two types of clothes - work, and workout.....

She get me all the casual/cool stuff.  If it were up to me, I would probably get old navy and levi jeans.  She buys me lucky and some Ed hardy (I think) stuff.  She just got a hat from them, she said it retails for $150.  WTF!  150 for a baseball hat with some sequins (sp?) on it.  Thank goodness she got it for free working a gig.

J Crew is okay, but they are more expensive than Banana and not as much of a selection. Plus, they don't seem to have good sales.

J. Crew puts stuff on sale every week (check the website Thursday morning - that's when the new stuff goes on).  If you time it right, you get an extra 25% off all sale stuff.  Plus, I get a 10% discount for being a student there - all you have to do is show a student ID.  And that stacks with the 25% off sale.

I got hooked on J Crew when I worked there.  A lot of the stuff (especially the suits) are worth the extra money over Banana.  And it depends what store you shop at.  For you, the Georgetown or Tyson's stores are going to have way more than any of the other stores.

(SPOILER

It is a 600 meter run/dash.  A girl trips and falls down with one lap (an indoor lap) to go.  She is about 50 yards out of it and runs the other girls down to win.  It's amazing, especially at the college level, when everyone is pretty much a stud....
