Cmon Stan!! we're on the same team!! But that was good. Remember all the controversy that south park clip caused?

We are off to the cabin in the AM. Planning on doing a big ride tomorrow sometime. Can do an 80km loop up there. We'll see how far i get. But I did run 15k this afternoon. Longest run of my life. Really enjoying running. Can't believe I' m saying that , but I enjoy running.

Good luck everyone this weekend!!!! Holly nail that OWS! Andy, John kill it!! And Steve get that big sister under 2hrs.

Wow, looks like Team 3 is good to go!  Rob, I can't believe you let Reuben get away with that "rash" comment...lol.

Good luck Holly, John and Andy.

I hope everyone has awesome workouts this weekend!

I am off to Oahu, HI on Monday for a one week vacation!  won't be able to bike much unless I can find a spin class but am probably going to focus on swimming ows...the water is much clearer and warmer there so I can practice sighting hopefully and i'll do some warm weather running which will be great practice for my upcoming oly on june 7th...

Sub 1 hour?? Not a chance.  It's upper Michigan with a climb up "Mini Alpe d' Huez" as it's called.  Weather is supposed to 50's (that's ok) but windy!  Maybe 20 to 30 mph winds.

The Du I do hope to break the 20 minute 5k on the first run!  We'll see how I feel after the TT.

I did just check the elevation chart for the TT... maybe not so bad.  ~500-600 ft of climbing.  But it is an out and back course so I'll have the same hill up and down twice.  So I could potentially make up some serious time on the descent.   Hmm.  1 hour... maybe.

Everyone else enjoy the weekend's training!

I'm doing a 4 hour brick today, and tomorrow I'm going to Walla Walla to swim and bike the Oly course I'll be doing next weekend.  The Athlete's guide for Boise 70.3 is out, and I'm happy to know I'm in the 2:25pm swim wave. That'll give me an extra half hour and I may need it!

I was watching this video this afternoon and of course thought of our group.  I think of you guys as my sand bags, and I mean that in the most loving way.  If we all work together, everyone will make it over that wall!!

I was wondering if I could get added to a team? I tried to get in before and this really sounds like fun.  A good way to kick off my Tri Season!  I think I was just over looked.  Anyone have room?  Chet

I counter that offer!  We have team chants, group hugs and the sponsors are clammering to support us!  Come to Team #4!

Suzy - your Team 4 might have chants, but look at the mottos the Deuce is kicking around:

"Not just floating in the pool"

"Nobody RUNS like us!"

"Making skidmarks at the dismount line"

"We're Movin' Now!"

For the record, Team Won doesn't do gimmicks.

The FUNNIEST thing happened this morning on our group ride.  And I know, some of you will not think this was funny.  There were 9 of us and we were grouped up heading out of town when someone yelled "squirrel up" .  Well, the squirrel headed across the road right into the peleton.  Have you ever seen a squirrel do the "dance of death" in the middle of 9 bicycles?  Rider number 1 clipped him, and the squirrel did a 360 and ran right into number 2, then did the same 360 and hit the 3rd bike.  I am not sure how the squirrel faired in the end, but I know he did a couple more 360's and headed off the road...probably wondering how his day could have gone so bad so quickly.

Anyway,  had a good ride today after flatting in the first 2 minutes of the ride and having to change that.  A day of rest did me good as i had some good legs today for 37 miles.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  Anyone else pulling for Mine That Bird in the Preakness yesterday?  That little guy has some get up and go!  I would like to have a high gear like that.

So I have been MIA for quite awhile, sorry about that.  I have decided to do the sprint tri in June as opposed to the Olympic.  The training for the past few weeks has been scarce with the new addition to the family and working keeping me busy.  That being said, I did get a chance to get out and race a 5K today (my first one in years).  I will do a full race report later today.

I signed up for the race just to see where my fitness was.  I had a few good months of training early on, but recently I haven’t been getting them in, so I wanted to see what I could do.  Going into the race I told myself that I was going to try to average 7 minute miles and see what happened from there.  I ended up running 21:07.  It was in the 40s and windy and the last half of the race was uphill, so I was happy with what I did.  The new goal for the season is to go sub-20 and then work down from there.  I’ll give a more detailed updated later.

Adam

I am heading out for a brick workout and was hoping to see some Race Reports!!  I am really excited to hear how everyone did so don't hold back!!

John- Hope the race went well, thanks for the invite to the Deuce!  I'll work hard to represent.

Suzy- thanks for the invite but John asked first.  It is 104 degrees here today and not getting cooler.  I may be liability to any team.  You're probably better off

Finally back to training today. The "Rashman" is gone and Redknight is hitting the roads. Although I didn't log anything while I was away we did keep very active with swimming, pool volleyball and watersliding. We had so many adults ont eh water slide at one time one day that they shut it off. I guess they were afraid someone was going to get hurt. They didn't understand that in my family it is only fun "until" someone gets hurt. Then it's a sport.

Very weird swimming in the ocean The waves were pretty strong and I swallowed some salt water until I got the hang of not breathing into the wave. Once I got out I had to have a few beers to get the taste of the salt out of my mouth. I tired running there but it was brutal. about 35 everyday and I couldn't keep enough water in me to run far. Only tried once and gave it up for the duration of the trip.
