1stTimeTri - 2012-11-14 10:53 AM How are the nerves holding out, Gym, with this weekend coming up?  I'm excited for you peeps!!  I hope to catch some of the stuff online if I'm not family-busy this weekend.

I'm fine.  No pressure, really.  I am completely undertrained and have zero expectations.  Finishing my even be doubtful.  BUT, I know I can breeze the swim and it looks like a great day for a bike ride.  The run?  Well, we'll see.

If I didn't drop $700 on it, I may not even go.  But with all that comes ZERO pressure.  With three under my belt.  I don't have anything to proove.  So if I start, it's a win.

As you stated in the IM AZ thread, then indulge in the course buffet!

What a weekend.

Baby bcart #2 arrived safe and sound Friday afternoon. Momma and baby are doing great.

We got to the hospital Friday morning, and they started her on pitocin to get things started. 7 hours later, and nothing has changed. Time for another approach?

Midwife decides to go ahead and break her water. Whoa, nelly. About 5 minutes after that, severe contractions and dilating rapidly.

Nurse calls for the anesthesiologist, and the epidural is started. Nope, still very painful contractions.

Nurse checks momma. Ooops, she's almost fully dilated about 15 minutes after the epidural started and it hasn't kicked in yet.

Yep, momma delivered a 7lbs., 1 oz baby with no drugs. Her toes started to numb after delivery was over...

If you're on the fb you can see pics, cain't put 'em up in TAN, y'know.

Whew.

Congratulations to you and Momma and Baby Bcart#2  it's tough work getting born and all.  I do hope you picked out a better name than Baby Bcart though,

Thank you very much.

Good luck and try to have fun.  I DNF'd 2 IMs this year mostly due to undertraining.  How dumb am I?  The first one I had $2300 wrapped up in and had the time off and knew DNF was a distince possibility but figured I might as well take a great big swing at it.  Second one I never expected to not finish.  I have completed 5............onward and upward.  I hoep you have the wind at your back and finish!!

I finished IMC this year with a boatload of medical problems.  And even though it wasn't my fastest time it was very satisfying to finish.

Race smart and controlled and you'll get it done.

That actually kinda sounds like a recipe for a great day in some ways. You can just kick back and take it all in stride and have fun.

Best of luck to ya!
