Morning Ghoules.

Late night last night with the "boys". Hung out with some of the guys I work with till about midnight. sometimes you just have to socialize. Today is staff meeting part II then drive 4.5 hours home to try to get to Jim's book signing.

Good morning Ghoulies.  Just had 156 here for the puppet show.  Now the branch is slowing going back to normal. 

I got in a 4.2 mile walk last night.  Woot!  On Thursday or Friday, I will aim for 6 miles.  The 10K is on the 4th of July, and there will be 60,000 runners/walkers.  Yes, you read that right.  60K.  We start in waves and Frank and I are part of the start crew for wave "M", and we go all the way up to "z"

I was wondering the same thing about the book

Yes, it is.  It is funny how perception can be.  I asked my ABM how the turnout was and she responded that it wasn't as big as she had hoped it would be.  So, I was anticipating the number to be below 100, and when I found out that it was 156, that is an awesome number for this branch.

So how did the softball game go?

Our team lost.

Our coach used to be an assistant under the coach of the team we were playing. He coaches the games against this team different than he coaches all the other games. We lost both of those games. Our girls weren't hitting the ball either.

They still have 3 more games to go out and win, plus playoffs. Tonight they play their game under the lights that got rained out a few weeks ago.

I am off today. Last day of camp for both kiddos. I am going to take Keri, and 3 other girls over to softball camp, hang out and watch them, then bring them home. I'll feed Keri then take her to grandma's and go back and watch final games, and the awards ceremony then bring Caleb home.

So, I received my topic for the interview presentation. 

The Library Service Desk: Future Directions

The Library Service Desk has now been operating for three years.  While still a work in progress, services (circulation, Reference, learning Commons assistance) offered at the desk are more integrated then when the desk opened.  Tell us how you would continue this process, with an emphasis on virtual services and reference.  OMG, this is like a major project!  And I get to put this together with no information on really what they do now, other than what was in the job description, which is long, but not really specific.

Glad to have you back.  Amazing how when we don't have access, we really do miss the phone and internet, but when we have it we often wish for a break from it.

I got up this am and felt like dog do do so I went back to bed for a while. I hope it is just the change in weather and not an infection. Aghh!!!

Ann, I can't help you either on the Gall bladder thing. I haven't had any experience, but I have a couple of friends who have. Diet changes can help. WebMD is a good source of info too.

Kendra, that is a tough progect/topic. You will rock it though, you have the knowledge and the experience.

Dee, What are you up to now that you have your race and girl-weekend behind you?

Jim's book is a pictorial history of Lake Lure. He has been working on it for about a year. I'll post a link.

I am trying to catch up on stuff both at work and around the house/yard. Now I have to start thinking about packing for the Highland Games and NYC!! Ugh.

Hi guys! I ran today! Yay! But I ran so that my knee and shin would be sore for my dr's appontment this afternoon, and it didn't really work. Figures. As soon as I scheduled the appointment a few days ago everythign magically got better! Oh well. He got my low back back in alignment and gave me a bunch of physical therapy type exercises, so that should help. 

Looks like everyone's staying pretty busy! We're headed off to a mountain resort with my side of the extended family tomorrow--the 4 of us are staying in our camper trailer, everyone else is staying in the condo units. I think we got jipped, LOL.

I'll try to check in again this weekend, but the chance of working wifi are slim. Everybody stay safe and have a great weekend!
