I'm handing out candy tonight. If my Michael Myers pumpkin doesn't scare the hell out of the little kids...

Halloween bugs me.  Not because of the Scare Factor et al, but because I think it's silly to walk around in costume asking for candy.  I know, I know, it's for the kids.  So hubby does it and I do a workout.  Everyone wins.

mr2tony - 2007-10-31 3:55 PM OK I've decided. I'm going as a mime tonight. I have a black shirt, black pants and a black hat. I just need white gloves and some face paint. Good to go? GOOD TO GO!!!

and you called me a nerd?

I did indeed. Hmm ... maybe if I were a `slutty' mime since `slutty' is in?

ummmmm, NO -

well, that would be my vote anyway

Hmm ... maybe I'll just buy a big tub o' black paint and PAINT on my clothes, like the triplets.

I'm guessing that's going to be way hotter on the triplets.

Triplets? Where?

Check out page 2 of the Lance Armstrong thread.  You'll love it.

Morning, all.

Good job to everyone on the running challenge.

We have no candy left over.  This was the first Halloween we actually stayed home and handed out candy.  Normally, we go to a bar and hide for the night.

SSHHHHHH.... It was my evil plan to keep all the peanut butter cups to myself!!!!

Lights were on and pumpkins lit.

We live in an odd part of the neighborhood where there are only like 5 houses on our block and the rest is the golf course.  It is poorly lit and no sidewalks so kids to tend to not walk down towards our house.  Neighbors on either side of us didn't have their lights on so people definitely would not have walked all the way down there just to turn around and come back.  Oh well.

Morning TAN!  Love the new avatar, Spokes.

We didn't give out candy last night so our lights were off.  We still had a group of kids (most too old and not wearing costumes) pound on our doors and yell at us to give them candy.  Finally I opened the door and my cat started hissing at them and scared them all so they left.  It was pretty funny.

All that by 830am... Wow!  you'll be on a sugar high for awhile

*snerk*  Nice, Schwamm.

That article is dumb.  It's not a new rule, races have been banning headphones for years now.  Additionally, I don't understand how this is such a detriment to people.  It's in the race literature, people, and has been for a while now.  You need to get over it.

Waaah...  I can't listen to music while I race.  HTFU.  You need to not wear headphones so your dumb a$$ doesn't cut me off, and I don't run you over.

Just remember people love excuses. `I went slower because they took away my music.' `I didn't finish because I didn't have the Beastie Boys in my ear.'

Personally if I were running something like NYC I'd want to soak in the crowd and not have music I can hear ANYTIME playing in my ears all day. I cannot run with anything in my ears. It distracts me and f***s up my pace. I just sing old military cadences to keep my mind occupied.

When was the last time someone wearing headphones was actually a head of you??

Maybe in the line to the port-a-potties.
