Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Alyssa- so loving those bears and the names your kids created. Not like you don't have enough going on in your world already, but if you wanted some extra $ making bears..... then again, it would probably cut into your training time

There are too many poses (like downward dog) that want too much weight supported on your hands with the wrist bent back; I just can't do that right now. I'm better resting on my fist but that puts me more off balance. I missed what happened to your wrist?Tendonitis of the left wrist. Started bothering me back in late September/early October. Saw a doc in late October/November, had MRIs and a cortisone shot. Had about 3 weeks of improvement. Didn't like this doc at all. Saw a new doc 2 weeks ago and got a custom splint that I wear all the time except when I've doing s/b/r or bathing. Posted this earlier today:
Oh girl I feel your pain ! I have tennis elbow in my dominant arm (right).....SUCKS. I have had two cortizone shots in it and the first turned my elbow skin white, then basically somehow managed to dissolve all the little bit of fat there was on my elbow....... so it's bone and no fat. That round of pt and that shot did not hold.......... so second shot turned my arm darker but seemed to work. Until lately, I am back to icing it 'cause there will be no more cortizone shot into this body ! |

My feet are just now thawing out..everything else was warm! great race! once again glad to see that Amy is back~ she knows how much we missed her by all the reading she has had to catch up on....plus you guys dont know this probably...but she and Cheri are on other mentor teams but I begged them to be on ours....(actually had to pay them = NOT) but just want to let them both know how much I appreciate the time they spend with us and all the inspires we all seem to get from them! Nalani...still have not mailed your super duper first and only (at least so far) GPOL Athlete of the month trophy. But will promise to do so soon...sure you are just dying to get it! haha~ Jennifer....glad you are back from Switzerland...and were able to get some skiing time in...look forward to hearing all about it...and hoping you got some good snapshots!? and finally...Lyssa...love the bears~! really cute! we may have to make you make the monthly awards!! |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Amy, it's great to have you back. Your smile is radiant. ---===--- I've read the first two Eragon books and have the third waiting for when I can find some time to read again. ---===--- I got in my ride this morning. It was a hilly sufferfest of my own design and choosing; it was cold, it was windy...wow that was fun! Maybe I can learn to love hills! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks everyone for the wonderful welcome back, this is just a spectacular group made up of intelligent, interesting, motivated, compassionate, and just beautiful people, it is a honor to be a part. Books- I read the Left Behind Series and couldn't put them down. Also, I love the books by Beverley Lewis on the Amish community. My daughter read the twilight books and couldn't put them down, she is 22. Lyssa-I think it's cool you don't have a television, it's not the norm, but who wants to just be plain and normal...that's boring. Your a great Mom for home schooling. The dogs can drive you insane sometimes, it is just like having babies, and when you bring in a new one there is excitement and jealousy, it just takes some time to get familiar with one another, not saying I want another because mine is "high" maintenance. She is getting better about not pulling me through town on our walks, or pulling my shoulder out of the socket. Life is good! Amy |

(because i home school, and we'd never get anything done) my link to the outside world is the internet and the library, so pretend like you're talking to someone who lives in a deeeeeeeeep dark cave, and never gets out. ![]() revolutionary road was a novel that came out in 1961 or thereabouts and supposedly is a lot like "Great Gatsby" (which I never actually read but I think wrote two book reports on it during school). It is about an unhappy married couple. Love. The roles of man and woman, which at that time were extremely limited. The writing was beautiful ... Movie came out recently with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, first movie they did together since "Titanic." I'd love to see it, but the redneck theaters around here never got it, so I have to wait until I can see it on DVD. I also didn't see "Twilight" in the movie theater, so I'm awaiting the DVD. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() After yesterday's hard bike I decided to give my legs a break today and do my swim instead of my run. However, it felt like they had the "slow water" in the pool. I guess I'm also swim tired from yesterday. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm taking today off after working very hard yesterday. My deltoids (or something in my shoulders) are very tired, as are my quads and calves. Or, on second thought, maybe I'll do some core work tonight while watching "The Biggest Loser." Sounds like a plan. Sadly, I also have to bring in some 35-lb. buckets for the furnace. I do hope it warms up again soon. Tomorrow is Weight Watchers weigh-in day, so I hope I can earn my 5-pound lost star. I've lost 14 lbs. since the beginning of the year. Whoopie! But WW didn't start until a couple of weeks in. |

But WW didn't start until a couple of weeks in. congrats on the weight loss Susie.....kiu! soon you will get in a routine and the weight will begin to shed away!!! I hope you are getting up and eating a healthy breakfast first thing you do. This was one of my biggest mistakes I made for many years when trying to lose weight...my daughter who was a collegiate athlete and eats soo healthy and nutritious was able to persuade me to get up and eat a bowl of my favorite mix of flax/granola/bran mixture with a fresh fruit and soy milk every morning.....I am amazed at how quickly my weight began to drop off! this is my weight loss tip for the day hoping you others teamies will share some of your favorite weight loss tips with us. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() yup, eating breakfast! Although my breakfast choices would break most people out. I usually have a meat and veggie for breakfast. IE - shrimp and asparagus. Then I have fruit for my 10 a.m. snack. My top weight loss top is to write down (or enter online) what you eat each day. It is definitely amazing how fast it can add up when you're not aware of what you're eating. The tough part is doing this when you know you haven't eaten like you'd like to and you have to tally up calories from junk food! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() sorry, i was kind of MIA yesterday. ok though, if we're gonna talk about food i have a question. soy milk. someone fill me in. i've heard that it's great, i've heard that if you substitute it in lattes, it's great, i've heard that if you have too much, it's bad for you, i've heard that it's all fine UNLESS you heat it up, then it causes cancer (or something) i've heard that if you heat it up WRONG it doesn't cause cancer, it just messes you up in the stomach. my thing is that i'm NOT going vegan or anthing, (at least not yet) but i'm trying to really limit my animal protien intake. i really am not doing well at it today either (had a chicken salad sandwich with cheese. LOL) NORMALLY (as in NOT today) i don't eat meat, but cutting things like cheese, milk and butter has been a lot harder, i THINK i could go totally vegan IF i could still eat butter, but then clearly it wouldn't be totally vegan. LOL anyway, i'm looking for info on soy milk. starbucks has it, and the guy i talked to yesterday said it was good, but i've never even tried it. someone else told me that vanilla rice milk was really good in lattes. the thing is (and it's totally selfish i know) i don't want to pay $4 for a latte with soy milk in it, and then NOT end up liking it you know? i know i need to just suck it up and try it, but i'm a huge chicken. LOL |
