GomesBolt - 2012-12-17 8:40 AM OK, fess up... Who saw "The Hobbit"?  It raked-in $84 MM this weekend so surely one of you did it...

Not me.  Love the book and want to see the movies.  BUT, I'm not sure if I'm ready to invest in another 3 years of waiting and such like LOTR.

Is it another 3 movie series??? It's only one book.

Saw it opening night. It was good, not great. Didn't much care for how they took Radagast's character.

It's split. 1st movie ends right before they meet Beorn. Second movie is the rest of the book I assume. Third movie should be "new" material. (Probably Aragorn's stint in Gondor/Rohan and the search for Gollum if I were guessing)

If you watch it, see it in 48fps 3D but not IMAX (as it wasn't filmed in imax)

The 48fps is really interesting. Worth watching it just for that.

I might be old school, but I'm not used to that, NOR a fan.  I think it's going to be the same "Soap Opera Effect" that some of the new 1080p HD TV's do.  It made Harry Potter look like live TV or the soaps.  Maybe that's the idea, make it look live, but it's a bit cold and uncomfortable to me.

So I signed up for this prison ministry thing where I spend time with an inmate every week, do bible study with them, etc.

The State has a letter describing the dos and don'ts.  On the letter, it has this sentence:

"In the event that you are taken hostage, the Department will not bargain for your release."

Uhhhh what?

yeah, it didn't really "feel" like a movie to me.

Not sure whether I liked it or not, but it was definitely interesting.

Ha! Well if you ever get detained in Mexico .. give me a call .. I'm about 45 minutes from the border!  I can bail you out!

I know the Nogales border area pretty well too.  I can meet you at the McDonalds just inside the US.  Only problem is breaking free from the cartels...

I know that McDonalds well.  I used to park in grocery store parking lot right outside the border crossing .. and head in from there for a night of underaged drinking and mayhem and we'd all meet back up at the MDs!  It was much much safer back in the early 80s!

I may have run into you back then.  We used to stop at McD's as soon as we crossed into the US from Hermosillo where we lived.

It was like a Beacon of Freedom.  It was the busiest McD's in the world for a few years and yet the bathrooms were immaculate.

Awesome.  My gym has a yoga class called "Liquid Metal" and it's done with classic yoga moves but you use kettlebells too and the music is loud loud angry rock music!  It's quite anti-religious.

i would love yoga to anything but the hippie-dippie chimes music they use.  i don't take yoga classes that have a lot of talk about chakras and such, i just go for an actual workout.

I would think "Hot Yoga" would be the least religious.

What is "Hot Yoga"?  It's not Hatha Yoga is it?

I like yoga, but I agree the chimes and sittar music is a little silly.

hot yoga is yoga in a 95 - 100 degree room.  it is done slower but all poses/stretches are deeper because of the heat.  i don't do hatha yoga -- that is the hippie dippie stuff.

I don't like Bikrams either.  Too routine.

Ashtanga (aka Power, aka Vinyasa Flow) in a heated room rocks.

That does sound like a good idea.  I do usually get sweaty doing yoga and then chills by the end because I'm not moving much.

But I don't like heat when I work out either.  I'm torn on this one.

How about I just stick to SBR and burpees?
