I'm sick of the people whining about not being able to use headphones in a race.  If that's the rule, that's the rule.  Lots of laws are stupid, but (technically) we have to follow those and if we don't we might get a ticket.  Same people who whine about getting caught speeding.  I speed, but I understand that I might get caught and get a ticket.

Haha...yah if it's in the rules (and it always is) then shut uuuuup. I ALWAYS run with music when training but duh not if it's against the rules. I just don't like to hear myself breathe when I run...it's depressing somehow.

How is it depressing?

You need to not wear headphones so your dumb a$$ doesn't cut me off, and I don't run you over.

When was the last time someone wearing headphones was actually a head of you??

Maybe in the line to the port-a-potties.

When I ran the Broad Street 10 miler this year, it was rampant.  Mostly because it's almost 20,000 people, and no one pays attention to where they line up.  The first 3 miles were awful, but it stayed crowded the whole way.  And yeah, more than a few times I had to really yell at people to look out, because they would literally swerve right in front of me.

Ultimately, it's a lack of understanding of race etiquette.  You don't cut people off, and you need to hear me when I say "On your left/right!"

How is it depressing?

Because all I end up thinking is how hot it is, how hard this is, how I am breathing too hard and should control that more then I DO try to regulate a bit more and I get all jacked up and then I panic and it all goes to h3ll in a handbasket. In a race I'm just focused on the XYZ in front of me. =)

Interesting.

i listen to my breaths... Am i squeaking? Am i getting air in my lungs? i count my steps per inhalation and exhalation. One two three four, one two three four. Hill, one two, one two. It's all there is when i'm running, somehow. Just air.

Hey. As long as you can hear your breath you know you're still alive, and that's a good thing.

I can't figure out how to post my mime photos on here from my phone.

Twice now my ipod has died on a run and I have literally stopped in my tracks both times like somehow my feet were moving BECAUSE there was music. After assessing the situation, I was able to finish the run both times, but not w/o some..."frustration." =)

"Frustration"?

You need to learn how to listen to other things.  Namely your body.  Breathing is part of that.  I think part of your issue stems from not realizing what's normal for you.  That comes with time and practice.  Of course you're breathing harder, you're running.  But, you need to match that against how the rest of you feels.  Tough to do that when you're distracted by noises in your ears.

I usually send the photos to my email address.  Download them from email and you can upload them from your computer to here.

OK back off topic ...

At the bar last night my second-favorite bartender was wearing a `naughty corrections officer' outfit that I liked very much. My favorite bartender was wearing this little devil costume, which wasn't anything more than a red bustier (sp?) and bikini bottoms with red fishnets. I stared -- I tried not to but couldn't help it -- and my second-favorite bartender told me I was a pig because I'm married and shouldn't be looking at other girls bootys and breasstesses. I told her that if she didn't want me to check out her bazooms then to put them away. She didn't like that very much. The other bartender apologized for her and said I could check out her rack all night if I wanted to. My kinda girl!!!

Morning TAN!!!

My boys cleaned UP last night.  There weren't many trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood either so when my little guys showed up, our neighbors all but dumped their bowls of candy into their bags.  I came home from spin class to a HUGE pile of candy on the dining room table.  Ugh.

KILEY! Step away from the mini candy bars...

Running with music- I never do it.  Actually, I take that back.  I use music when I'm on the track sometimes.  Mostly because there are NO CARS!!  I really enjoy the atmosphere of a race and don't want to miss anything because I have Fergie-ferg-love-you-long-time in my ears.

From Mean Girls:

In the regular world, Halloween is
when children dress up in costumes

and beg for candy.

In Girl World, Halloween
is the one night a year

when a girl can dress
like a total slut

and no other girls can
say anything about it.

The hard-core girls just wear lingerie
and some form of animal ears.

I felt like I was going to vomit last night so didn't end up going out with my boys for trick-or-treating. They, too, cleaned up. Easily 2 gallons of candy a piece. Amazing. And with my sweet-tooth. Ugh.

HELLO TAN!!!
