Got in 10 miles on elliptical this morning.  No flats to worry about on my biking... At least until I start riding a real bike

LazyMarathoner - 2008-09-14 2:19 AM Do you ever get up at some ungodly hour (ie, 4:30) for a race and wonder what the heck you were thinking? I wish races were at 7pm instead of 7am...

Most days 4:30 is sleeping in.  I know you are gone (should be), but good luck.  Now go take a nap.

Oh, a nap sounds so good!!! 13.1 miles done, not my finest but at least I did it. The race was a logistical sh*t show, I'll definitely share in the RR. I think I'm going to have to do an ice bath even though it wasn't that far. Due to my undertraining, my legs are hurting!

Good job Lazy. I think I have only ran  that distance once a couple months ago before I hurt my knee and I loved it.

'Tis a fun distance for sure. I love it because the training isn't crazy and the recovery is minimal. Sometimes I wonder why I do the longer ones, but hey, I'm a glutton for punishment. But then again, aren't we all?

Yeah and it is the idea (at least to me) can I do it?  I want to do the Las Vegas Mary on Dec 7th.  I think it would be fun.  I just have to figure out how to carry my cigarettes without them falling apart .

LOL! Funniest comment I've heard all day. Now if you pulled one out and lit it while on the run, that would be even funnier and it would confirm that you are completely nuts.

I'm off to a bar for some fermented beverage recovery. Need to replenish those carbs and all!

September Four-Is-More Challenge Team Standings - Week #2

September is now 47% completed. Are you on target to meet your goals?

Here are the current team standings:

FIRST PLACE - Team Post Padding - 34.8%
SECOND PLACE - Whips, Cattle Prods and Tiaras (WCPT) - 34.7%
THIRD PLACE - Team Horny Melons - 30.3%

Congratulations to our new leader, TEAM POST PADDING!

BUT September isn't over yet! We still have more than 2 weeks to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT!

Need a reminder of what happens at the end of the month?

The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the September Four-Is-More Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of October. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.

Dear Allegedly LazyStupidCarpyTeammateMarathoner,

Don't be so hard on yourself.  There's still a lot of the month left and you can get back on track.  Just don't take any more vacation.

Uh-oh. Looks like someone voted me off the team! *ahem* I think I'm about 35% on my overall goals, though. I need to get out and bike, which means going slow with the fam in tow, or getting a(nother) sitter to stay with little man since he's not in school for another 2 weeks.

Thank you for making the "right on track" criteria extend low enough to count me.

I was thinking I should be in the "hurry up and train already" category.
