Also staying clear from sick people - aka limited time at the gym and public places. Good luck, 'Kido! But remember, you can't be the boy in the plastic bubble forever. |

Nah, but I'd probably do the same a week before my first IM. |

My husband was sick the week before my marathon and I wouldn't kiss him or anything. He understood. An airborne really isn't going to help that much. It's not an anti-viral drug, so you can easily still get sick. I know it's mean. That's why it hurts so much. If it were her big deal, I would stay away from her as to not jeapordize anything. I know, airborne is just a bunch of vitamins in a alka seltzer. It does nothing.... That sucks - unfortunately, that's the only thing you can do at this point. Make sure you continue to eat really well, get lots of sleep and hydrate to keep your immune system up and fighting any potential invaders. Crossing fingers for you... I could be paranoid. I'm nervous about everything right now. But yes, eating well, vitamins, lot of water, and lots of sleep is on the schedule... |

I might not have even cared if it were any other race. But I figured I could protect myself the last week before this race. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: #57 - I Need a Drink - Gin and TANic I got off the phone with the wifey. Still feeling sick. Maybe I should have broached the subject just yet, but I did, in the nicest way I could, express that I was a little hurt that if she knew she was sick, why risk getting me sick just for a little kissy face.... She got mad at ME, and said she didn't do it on purpose to get me out of the race. Well, duh, I'm sure she doesn't want to knock me out of it, but she could have been more carefull. She then said that colds are airborn, so it doesn't matter. I said they are to an extent, but you usually get them by touching something infected and touching your eyes or mouth. So kissy face is a sure fire way to increase the odds.... Now she is mad at me, but tells me to just get plenty of rest and fluids. Thanks for that. How about just avoid kissy face for a couple days when you KNOW you're sick... I'm sad. But let's see how it pans out the next couple days. |

I get nervous even playing basket ball that I might twist and ankle or something. I'm walking on eggshells, and I NEVER do that. I usually just don't care. I'm going insane... maybe there is something to this taper crap... I thought I was better than that. |

Instead of kissy face, it looks like it may have to be "kiss azz" for awhile. Ahhhh, wives. |

I just put my foot down and let her know in no uncertain terms will I be engaging in any sort of intimate activity, and to make sure she keeps her *anxious* paws off of me when I am most vulnerable I will be sleeping on the couch! Just be a man, 'Kido. YEAH! |
