Hi all! Great job on the finisher for the challenge and all who raced this weekend! Just got back from two days of sailing and night of camping! The north shore of Kauai is such a magical place, if you can ever visit the islands it is a must see!

Just going over my week and I am on a taper for my race and it looks like I will be just making my time goal depending on how fast I bike on Sunday! I will try to add 5 minutes to my trainer rides to make sure I make it. My son getting the flu last week didn't help.

I've been to the big island, Maui and Oahu but never Kauai. Would love to someday. Ahhhh... I could not imagine living there. I'll bet you forget how awesome your views are?!? well...maybe not.

Sorry to be missing in action. I'm off to ride the trainer.  My race  was the best ever.  Lots of challenges--but I kept my to my game plan.  My race report is out.

Thanks

Hey guys!  So, here are my stats so far.  I've completed 7 stages and 285 minutes.  I know I said I'd do 8 stages but I can't remember how many minutes.  Saph?  Can you let me know?

My tri didn't go as planned over the weekend.  The swim went great but my tire blew out on the bike so I got a big fat DNF.  I was due for one of those.  Hopefully it will be awhile before it happens again.  I hope everyone else is doing good and getting those stages done!  Cheers!

I am done. Met my challenge goals with a 71-mile ride this morning. We lucked out and had great weather. Much cooler and less humid. Very good ride for me.

Well done.

this challenge is proving tougher than i thought... ugh! did a trainer ride (which I hardly ever do) while a kiddo was over for a play date. I did have to get off the bike a couple of times to divert a kid-tastrophe or 2 but then I'd forged onward.... whew.

I did my 60 minutes on the trainer watching the TdF yesterday.  It completely sucked.  I ran for 30 minutes this morning.  It completely sucked.  I hate the first couple of workouts after a TRI.

You guys are looking strong out there.  Keep it up!

I did another stage tonight (YAY!), but I have a question.  I signed up for 9 stages/150 miles.  Right now I'm at 8 stages/172+ miles.  I know I need another stage, but the spreadsheet is showing me at 101.95%.  There must be a problem with the formula...

And don't worry -- I'll get that last stage in.   GO TEAM!!!

I finished my last tour today! YAY! I didn't do the hilly ride that my plan called for but I did watch So You Think You Can Dance which i just adore so it makes the time pass quickly on the trainer!!

Good luck in the home stretch team!!

How did I forget to take pictures!  I am a moron!  I'll post some tomorrow.

I finished stage 8 of 8!  I'm up to 335 minutes.  I'll be getting a couple more stages to finish up the total time I projected.  For the record, I'm supposed to do 390 minutes.  Less than an hour to go!  Cheers!!!

Ok--I've lost my training Mojo this week.  I guess it is a function of the race this weekend.  So this is the time for me to commit to our team. So here I go...

Ok on the books this weekend are a four hour ride and a three hour ride.   As part of this, I'm going to tackle Mount Diablo--which is the second most rapid assent in the continental USA (outside of the white mountains).  It has a ton of switch backs and only a couple of places were the grade is insane--including the last 400 meters or so.  There I said it.  I will try to do this one and a half times.   There--I said it out loud.   Now, I can't back out.

You guys need to hold me to this.

Anyone else doing epic training?  I can't believe we're almost done with this challenge.

Geoff

I AM SO FRICKING PROUD OF YOU GUYS!!!! we are soooo close! big shouts out to: juniperjen, kvesey and sledge. seriously guys we CAN win this and DESERVE to win this.

teamies: can you check if what i have down is correct. those who have done over 100% sadly you can't! so i've changed it to a straight 100%.

for those who haven't finished yet i think a confessional/commitment will help, just as wieczynski has done.

me: i have 6.01 miles to do i.e. 9.67 km. will either finish off tonight on my trainer or on sunday whilst watching the final day.

Didn't do it yet! Just getting up here in Hawaii!

Got a sprint tri sunday; yes I am looking forward to it, but there is a moderated to big swell predicted and it can make the swim feel like you are in a washing machine. I'm a pretty strong swimmer but still have some anxiety about it.

Your math is probably right I was just estimating..
