Now what happens when you get to your goal weight and within 3 days after, your back above by 1-3 lbs. ? Have a contigency plan. Mine is I'm actually shooting for 1-2 lbs below my ideal/goal weight, that way if I gain the extra (water weight or whatever), I'll be right where I want to be.

I think it's actually better to have a goal RANGE than a goal weight.  Weight does fluctuate and I think stressing over a pound or two is counter productive.  Of course, I'm not even close to a real goal weight yet, so maybe I'll change my mind...

Well, when we say goal weight, it is more for a 'mile stone' effect. But yes you're right, a weight range is what I was getting at because it does fluctuate quite a bit. I'm trying to train my body to accept the idea of only being in that range, annthing above means more work, anything below means keep a watchful eye on it. and then work to keep it there. Good observation, though.

Ick.. talk about emotional eating.  Had a great day yesterday and then had a stressful board meeting, came home and ate on of the boys chocolate bars.  UGH!

That's o.k. So long as you put the majority of them back.....and try and make good choices for snacks next time.... i.e. nuts, fruit, protein shake, you know the GOOOD stuff!

Did you have fun though? A much deserved vacation I bet... Glad to see your back home safely. It's time to get back to work though, start thinking sub-200, sub-200, sub-200, sub-200.

Hey all-

Been weeks since i have been lurking around here with insane work, coaching my youngest daughters lacrosse team (first time dad-coach...never thought it would take so much effort), and dealing with my oldest daughters knee injury (from lacrosse...MRI yesterday [fingers crossed]). Walked by the scale and figured I better just face the music.

This week 198.8. Cant remember where I was before.

I think my biggest accomplishment this past week is that I lost 2 lbs, and I didn't eat perfect all week. This is not meant to say you shouldn't strive for perfect eating, but the truth is that we can't. We all slip, or even don't slip and just want to enjoy high cal foods once in a while. As long as we are eating healthy most of the time, and exercising, it turns out we are still able to lose weight. This past week I ate at a BBQ place, and while I ordered healthy, my lunch partner didn't eat his Mac & Cheese, or his Apple pie, so of course I had to help him out. Felt guilty and sick afterwards. I also ate from the breadbasket every time I went out to eat, and got Dove dark chocolates at the movie theater. BUT I worked out hard the rest of the weekend, and the week still turned out ok. I just have to remember when I crack, and I will crack I'm human afterall, to just get back on track, and not think its too late I have no chance to lose weight this week anyway, so might as well hit that Ben and Jerry's.

Late on the weigh in...

Last week 227
This week 227

My major accomplishment for the week happened yesterday. Went to a business lunch which happened to be a buffet at the hotel. All kinds of yummy things on the buffet line, including pasta, pizza, chicken in some kind of creamy pesto sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, etc.

I opted for pork tenderloin with cabbage and apples (with as little of the juice as possible), couscous (looked like it had very little oil) and instead of the pasta, I asked them if they could just prepare the veggies from the pasta with no oil (in broth). I got quite a strange look, but he did it for me. And after a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, I was good to go! I was so proud that I didn't have anything bad

Off to the doctor now so he can tell me if I can go back to training.

They had cookies at our meeting yesterday - and I have to admit to eating a cookie.  Which is SO not on my plan.  It was SO good though, that I can't feel too bad about it but I know I shouldn't have eaten it.

That's my confession for today.  Hopefully I won't have to do any more confessions.

A great idea is to always keep some snack stuff with you as you go throughout the day, so that if/and/or when the time or need arises, you already have a healthy choice at hand instead of turning into a McD's at every corner. Some ex. Nuts--> personally I like them either raw or roasted almonds w/out salt. Just a handfull is all you need, and they're great for protein. Some other ex. granola bars or protein bars both should be able to satisfy for the moment until your next scheduled meal, even fruit helps. Take an orange, pear, nectorine, peach, or banana. Mind you when I say grab a peach, stay away from fruit cups, they're loaded with sugar and syrup!!!! BAD BAD BAD Whole foods, no processing is key. Protein shakes work well too, and they've gotten a lot better tasting, use skim 1% or 2% milk instead of water they definately taste better that way.

yesturday I went to dinner at a pretty high end seafood restaurant. I was a little intimidated since most things were dripping with sauce or mash potatoes. So I opted for a plate that was cook raw tuna, drizzled in herbs and olive oil, and on the side had steamed mixed veggies. I was very filling though. I also had 1.5 glasses of a pinot gris ( which was like heaven). I skipped the workout lastnight however and opted to go to bed early. I woke up and did yesturdays Plyo (legs) routine, and after my date tonight, I intend to continue with the appointed regularly scheduled training, which is back to Sculpt V/VI and ABS 200. So tonight we'll see how I do. It's a blind date, she's from TN ( a nurse), 23, and very pretty.....

It's gonna be tough until you work it out though right.... ? Get into the habit of moving those legs, sooner or later you'll like, and it won't be so tough. It'll be second-nature. For your migraine, I hear a tbsp of honey dissolved in water can help because it has a lot of vitamins, antioxdants and stuff. It's also good for a pre bed time drink to help calm the stomach and promotes sleep in people with sleep disturbance. If you have allergies use honey cultivated locally. Since the honey also contains the pollen from those trees your body will build up an immunity and you may find your allergies dissipate....
