that sucks about the calf muscle shawn...just try to rest it as much as possible...you won't lose much race fitness if it's just a few days. hey, you can set up your garmin with all of your favorite data fields!

Alright ellies - my first tri is done!  I had a blast.  Ready for a nap... then another please!

OK, I could have asked for a less crowded pool swim - or at least a freshly shaven leg on the gal next to me - stubble HURTS!  maybe that was a ploy by her but I kept my pace despite it.

Now back to training so I can complete the sprint in June.

go ellies go!

HOORAY for you! Did you post a race report? You are a TRIATHLETE NOW!

I finally clipped off my SECOND (out of 10!) strength session of the month. Lucky I can still type as my trainer led it. Ugh.

go ellies go!

we ellies are clever

race report is posted.  meager though it is.  Dunno if I'll get hubby to ride with me today - he says he needs a nap.  But without him I don't have to pull a trailer of kids!  hmmm.  let him be tired?  but not too tired to be a daddy.

Congratulations you are “one of us” now Will read you RR later.

So how is everybody doing ? I have had big week, where I managed to get in an extra 2 swims, short ones but it all count So I ended up swimming 10k this week. And yesterday I had my longest run ever, today I then wanted to go out and have the longest ride of the year but we had quite a lot of snow during the night so that was just not possible I did an hour on the trainer instead and that was enough, my legs are still tired from yesterdays run.  The weather should be good next week so I am hoping to make it a bike prioritized week.

Let’s go Elephants

I had to update the last few days just now. I was out of town and didn't have "the web".

I was running only, and it felt great. Until yesterday when I got home! BLISTER TIME.

Lesson learned, wear socks and if there is any irritation...STOP!

OK.  The whole reason I joined the challenge was to get me to do the strength exercises.  the s/b/r is already in my training plan and I'm doing great following it (though I WANT to beg off today's run...).  I see the month is half over and I only had 3 (30%) of my strength workouts in.  Check another off, please, I did one today but ouch, where is my core?!  that hurts!  Oh yeah, that's why I need to do it.

back to wanting to beg off today's run... can I?  hmph.  it's only 20 minutes so will be over in a flash but I've no spouse today and have to take BOTH to the older's gym class tonight after a fast supper.  whiiiiiine.  when will I shower?  I have to build the jogger stroller (folded/broken down to fit in trunk).  Aaaargh!  But if I bail, that will be first bail from plan since I started?  is it a slippery slope?

OK, OK, I'll go change into running clothes and build the trailer while they are still napping.  I will, I will...

Looks like we are slipping in the standings .

The good news is i am  33% complete  and my workouts  are balanced ,  the bad news is its the middle of the month.

Race wise  I  found a  local  5 k to do for next sunday .

I will be riding my  REAL bike   this week  so it will be easier to do the long rides  in my training plan   as  its more exciting  than the gym bike.

Not too exciting. No posts since tuesday? I hope everybody is out training. I hope to get some quality outside biking on Sunday in the nice weather. Outside rides have been tough to come by here. Anybody else got big plans for the weekend.

I think my 1yo gave me his cold.  I did end up running on Tuesday and biked a little Wednesday (sans kids) but stayed in bed Thursday when the alarm went off for lap swimming.  I am feeling better today so hopefully will be back in the saddle this weekend.

Did my long ride this morning  and rode most  of the triathlon bike and run course   i am planning to do next saturday.   its a 400 pool swim 17.5 mile bike   and three mile run.

With a good swim and two runs  this week that put me over 50% in all three sports.  With twelve days left and double mileage for races  . I  am feeling confident .

Off topic ____  Any one here follow the NHL hockey playoffs. Wow , Exciting time of the year !!!

Go HAbs  Go !

van_paulus, glad you're not one of the sick ellies!  I think I'll do a small workout today, but not the planned long run.  We'll see how hot it ends up being.  Maybe a slow plod this morning will do it for me.

kt65, hope you're beating this cootie bug.

Anyone racing?  go ellies!

Hate to hear anyone is sick . I am skiping a  planned hockey pick up game tonight because i want to run a 5K tomorrow morning , And Am looking to really push it so better off on fresh legs, I can always play tomorrow as recovery  after the race..

Also happens this 5K , Footsteps ,was the very first foot race i ever did 3 years ago .

So i would love to PR either the distance and  if not at least  PR  the course  .

Weather condition are looking  ideal for me with cool overcast weather and temp around 50F ...

And double mileage  for the monthly challenge wont hurt  my totals either  ...
