6.2 miles logged today!   First time I've ever run the 10k distance.   My plan was to get 5 miles in but it was a nice morning (only 90 at 8:30a) and I was feeling good so decided I'd see if I could make the extra 1.2 miles.   Got it done and have a rest day tommorow.

Have jury duty at 7:30am.  Hopefully it'll be a trial so I don't miss too many biking mornings.   Can always get the runs in whenever.   Won't know if they'll use me yet, will find out tomorrow.   I'm happy to go and participate.  Last time I was there the majority of the room was complaining about having to be a juror, or at least sit through the waiting process.  Makes me wonder about the 'judged by a jury of your peers' when looking around I didn't consider too many of those individuals to be peers.

Looks like we are in 4th place right now.  Pretty good, but we can definitely improve on this.

Going to run 2 miles in just a few minutes.  That'll get me to 20%.  no pain or tightness in the knee this morning, hope it holds up through the run.

Great job everyone! We're in 4th place, barely missing third. If we can keep everyone healthy, we'll be winning this thing in no time.

Only made it about a quarter of a mile before it quickly became very obvious that I should stop.  I'm icing the knee now, and I made a doctor's appointment this afternoon.  Hopefully I didn't do any significant damage this morning.

Ouchie, take it easy man, go for a swim, ride a bike if you can. Running is hard on the body, unforgiving. EVIL. Get better.

Alright, I think we should share our running plans for the week, you know, in an effort to keep ourselves accountable. So for this week.

Run 9.3 k today....done,
Maybe run on Wednesday at lunch, i have a trial and I am leaving for washington that day from work so I dont know but maybe, then there is the stinky clothes factor.
Short run on Friday.
Saturday: Um, Marathon, if I make it through the 4 k swim and 180 k bike.

Its a new week dudes (well actually it started yesterday)

The sad part is I actually logged the run.... I think the logging took longer than the running

Doctor says it's probably tendonitis in my ITB, and I need to take 4 advil about an hour before I run, wear a knee brace, and do a very gradual warmup.  Hopefully that works...  going to give it a try in the morning.

Do you use The Stick and a foam roller on your ITB?  It's been really helpful for me.

4.13 miles of running for me today.  I'm up to 21.33 miles (21.33%).  I look like less of a slacker now.

Never heard of those things... any advice?  A friend of mine got his first degree in kenisiology and exercise science (or something like that) and is going to show me some things he thinks will help.  I didn't get to run this morning.  My school schedule got changed at the last minute,  so I'm her all day tuesdays and thursdays....  I'll probably be spending 13ish hours here once everything is settled.  On the plus side, it means the other 5 days of the week are totally free, which should help schedule training.  The extra day of rest can't hurt, anyway.

Sorry for the absence!  Lots of excuses - allergy season just hit, meaning asthma has begun...yikes!  Race is in a few weeks & the Challenge is on!  Plus my 3x12hour shifts were Sun, Mon & Tues & were killer this week.

O.k....here's the plan:

I started the allergy meds last night & am feeling better already!  Yeah!

  • 3 miles tomorrow (Wednesday)
  • 3 miles on Friday
  • 3 miles on Saturday

that should keep me on track for the Challenge without any trouble.  If I can, I'll push to 3.5 on tomorrow so I can back off on Saturday since it's 2 days in a row.

Sounds like everyone is working really hard around here!  Go team!!!!

On my way out the door to run right now, after 4 advil, 40 minutes of yoga, and 20 minutes of normal stretching.  I'm going to try a very gradual warmup from 2mph walking up to 5mph running over the course of 10 minutes.  Wish me luck!  If this works for me, I can still hit my goal this month.

Good luck on your run!

I got in 3.4 today, was running for 30 minutes time, not distance.  Trying to run slower and keep HR in a lower zone.
