It's almost time for the Wisconsin-Michigan game.  We are playing at Michigan, but we're undefeated and Michigan is 1-2.  Should be interesting.  We always manage to lose somehow though.

On the plus side, I found these at Saxon's at Short Pump today.  I tried to buy them online, but by the time I went, they were sold out in my size.  I'm happy about that.

dansko

I have a cordovan pair I wear all the time to work.  I can't wait to wear these.

NICE SHOES!

Thanks!  I feel a little cliche about buying more Danskos (since I work in a lab) but they are so comfy.

Yep.  That's why I see all the grad students and nurses wearing them.  We know better.

Actually, now I'm picturing you - wearing heels - as you stand at the front of a lecture hall....

But I suppose that I need to modify the mental image so that you're not wearing a tri suit?

Or running across the room with your thumbs up.

O M G

I wore heels on Tuesday with my really cute new suit (not tri suit, werk suit)...and I almost died. I kept stepping out of them, I'm sure my class was amused...

Now she's tall...

Now she's not...

Heel's plus a tri suit? Nah - not me. I'm more of a flannel pants and flipflop girl - too bad I have to look professional occasionally.

I wore flip flops to work all day.  Of course I also wore spandex leggings, an oversized football jersey and a bandana but that's a minor detail.  I don't really miss the days of having to get dressed up for work.  Now I only get dressed up if we do a Club Med grand opening (and then I get to wear really fun/sexy/sassy type things) or if I have to go to some sort of meeting for a client at a school in which case I tend to go straight for the conservative suit and a look on my face that states, clearly, it would be best to just do as I say.

If you brought your little pink whip and bright pink taser to the schools, I'll bet they wouldn't even notice what you wore.

Well, except on the days that you were wearing those leopard print shoes. Then, of course, you obviously couldn't bring the pink taser. You'd need the leopard print taser, instead....

Do they make a leopard print whip?

Morning everyone!  Our basement is less flooded.  Yesterday, they pulled up the carpet, took out the pad (threw it away), vacuumed up all the water, put the carpet back down and sucked the water out.  We've had fans on it all day.  They showed up with a blower at 10 this morning.  I was unimpressed since I was still in bed.

They are trying to save the carpet.  We'll see how well that works.

Hi Nibbs!

It's quiet in here - everyone must be out enjoying the weather?  It's not very nice where I am - it's raining again

I'm at my 'old' apartment cleaning out the last of my stuff and doing odds and ends so I can turn my keys in.

I will be glad to have this part done

Conveniently, we rent, so we don't care either way right now.  My biggest concern is mold.  I'm going to bring home some plates from the lab tomorrow to see how much there is in the house right now and then compare in a few weeks.  I'm not sure they are going to bring out a mold inspector unless we really push for it.

It's raining on and off here, too.  I had to run some errands and I'm trying to make the house a little more liveable.  Our kitchen is full of boxes and bikes that were in the basement, so I've been trying to make it more organized.
