Expert 1357 Mukwonago, WI | Subject: RE: Air Wingers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge So if I understand this correctly, through November 8th the most amount of points you can record is 6, correct? And you can only count 6 points two weeks of the month? |

Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: Air Wingers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Wildee - Correct. Nov 8th, Nov 15th, Nov 22nd, and Nov 30th are the Week End Dates. I think the best option would be to mark 1 point (up to 6 each week) for each day you completed a 30 min workout. If you complete 6+ days in each period, I'd mark it as 6 each period. But only 2 weeks of the 4 weeks will count for 6 points. We CAN be overachievers! I got a 30+ minute run in this morning with Trixie at Sleepy Hollow park. Good trail runs. We had some rain last night, so the trails had a few muddy spots. Bad enough that I'll have to wash my shoes (I say that like washing shoes is a bad thing). I think I'll do the Cali workout tomorrow also, unless I end up with free time this evening. Keep up the good work Air Wingers! |

Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: Air Wingers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge sparco - 2008-11-06 5:13 PM You got to ride with Trixie? We're jealous... - You know, Trixie really is a great athlete (anyone can see that by looking at her logs or training with her even just once) and she is an excellent person to train with. She will motivate you to push yourself and at the same time encourage you find your own comfort zone. She won't drop you (leave you behind) in training and she will freely give you advice about how to become a better athlete. This should almost be a "What I like about Trixie" thread. So for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting or training (or even racing) with Trixie, I do hope that you find someone to train with who can encourage and motivate you. This will change your mindset about training. Or if you have the experience, be that friend to someone else! This is one of the best things that you can find here on BT. There are several people here who have a vast knowledge of the sport of triathlon and at the same time live near you and would enjoy your company while training for themselves. We started what we call the Michigan BT Rawk Squad!! A Mid-Michigan based group of people who train together. Not necessarily every week, but the invitation is always open for people to meet up and train together. Start a group in your area (post a thread in your states forum) and simply meet up once in a while. You'll make new friends and find someone who is very much like you. Speech over. Find that person or be that person!

Extreme Veteran 506 Lake Placid, NY | Subject: RE: Air Wingers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge PT plus more of the PT exercises at home equals workout #5 for the week. Especially hard to do is getting my leg straight to the floor (by PUSHING ON IT) but I am going to try to do it twice each day. Bent it to 110 degrees today, which means I am stationary bike-bound in the morning for workout #6-- bye, bye seated stepper!!!!! (we do get to count tomorrow's towards this week, yes?) Everyone is getting in great exercise. I have been a bad inspirer but I will get better this week now that I am feeling better. Go Air Wingers!!

Extreme Veteran 578 Katy, Texas | Subject: RE: Air Wingers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge This Group/challenge is awsome. I got home from work and SO didn't want to do anything active. But I forced myself and ended up having a GREAT run. It's the first run I've had since I re-started that I never felt like I had to force myself to keep going. It was really fun. 3.62 miles \ 35 min 44 sec |

Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: Air Wingers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge sparco - 2008-11-07 7:44 PM We're still jealous you get to train with her... LOL, I am lucky that she can put up with me. And I fully understand the idea to have training partners in which you don't mind following... Thus the term PaceBooty. I occasionally have those individuals to train with; however, I normally train alone, or MTB ride with guys from work - not as fun! Meeting fellow BT'ers is great too. Anytime anyone is in mid-Michigan, let me know. For the tri group ideas, I recently read an interesting article about starting a Tri Group. I'll have to see if I can find it. I recall the article suggesting making flyers to post at local stores that attract the tri-type people - LBS, Shoe Stores, YMCA etc. You may find that there is significant interest in your area. Also after you get a solid group of people together you could seek out sponsors to help cover racing and/or equipment fees. You may get that sponsor in the form of bike tune-ups or discounts to a gym. Ok, I talk too much! I know. Saturday - Cali Day for me! I've got my 6 in this week, so this will solely be for the purpose of self torture. Anyone else planning on Cali this weekend?

Sweet! Great job this week! I'll also be going for the point after. Keep up the good work Air Wingers! Don't forget to update the spreadsheet and if you have questions about how to do this PM me. While you're at it, keep up your BT Training Log with your workouts. Week one is almost done (Tomorrow). Let's get those number up! Do you all want to attempt any planned workouts / goals for our team? Say 2 days next week we all do a specific workout on a specific day? Like Boot Camp from across the world. If anyone is interested I'll set up a 30ish minute PT style workout. Basics: Push Ups, Sit Ups, Squats... you could call it calisthenics - "Cali Day" Remember: The only easy day was yesterday! Great idea....I'm in for "Cali Day"! |
