#2 for me.

Should be a lot of first timers on this thread.  Last year at the IMWI dinner I think there were over 1000 people doing their first IM.  I would bet at least 35 of the 74 here are 1st timers?

I'm not only a first timer, but it will be my 7th or 8th tri ever. I've only done 3 so far and have an HIM and a few shorter races before IMWI.

jdostal - 2009-01-20 10:36 PM i am right there with you.  i can't see the treadmill anymore.  and my legs are shivering when they see the bike trainer.  I can't wait getting outside.  Living in MN, this won't be before New Orleans HIM.  I will see you there though....and in WI too.

Nice! You're doing IMNO 70.3 too. I won't get much outdoor biking in either, but I'm hoping for a few rides. This has been a tough winter for sure. Good luck!

My second IM. I've been in the zone for weeks with training. A little side tracked now, hopefully can start riding again this weekend. I ready for the ice/snow to go away - pain in the butt (literaly feel down the stairs).

I'm a first timer!  Training has been going and I am so sick of running on the treadmill, I might not be able to look at it soon.  I want to get out on the roads with my new bike too!

So I have heard that the crowd support is awesome at IM MOO - the exact phrase used was "The crowd at Madison goes OFF!"

Is it true ????

Absolutely!

Hey,

I found a podcast on itunes that has a 30 min video of both the run course and bike course for IM Wisconsin. It was posted in 06, the route may have changed a bit, but I think it gives you a good feel for the course.

Search Simply Stu podcast. They are episodes 44,46. His regular podcasts are pretty good also.

Mindy

Having know both, the thrill  Of a IM finishCool and the Heart break of  a DNF Cry. I would like to bring up an often overlooked  part of IM racing and training. We spend countless hours training the body, But very little time on the mind. To quote the man himself "Many triathletes still don't do any mental training, and among those that do, most only do it in the final days or hours before big races. Metal training needs to happen year-round" Dave Scott..........

I am again reading The Triathlete"s Guide To MentalTraining.. By Jim Taylor & Terri Schneider      any  suggestions of  a book or feed back will help us all......

P.S. I lost My MOJO at IMOO last year so if you have seen them let me know. They Must be reunited.

a reward of several  pints of Guinness after IMOO is being offered

this is    MO          and             JO

Workout ???                                 Who me ???

I'm also a first-timer!  My first HIM will be Wildflower May...my first marathon is Napa in March.  2009 will be a very big year for me....one way or another!

I just want it to get warm around here.  We have had snow on the ground since November and I am sick of it.

IMMoo will be my first after a disappoint injury during training ended my IMKY training last year.

Winter has been hard for me but I feel I am finally out of my winter funk and I am back training.  I even thinking about seeing if I can ride my tri bike on the trainer over the road bike.

I am fianlly getting excited again and good news is I start the year about 30 lbs lighter than last year.

Great job on the weight loss...it makes the training and racing that much easier.

X2. Winter is crushing my motivation entirely. I'd take even 45 degrees at this point.

Lets get some training dates out there for BTers riding the course (primarily out of towners, cuz I plan on being out there frequently).  Anything set in stone for folks?

Good to see this topic brought up.  I'm planning on at least 2 trips and hopefully three this spring and summer.  Weekend of May 16th and 17th might be a great opener for me.  Week of May 30th and 31st would also be great.  Either one of these weekends would be a good opportunity to also get a swim in.  A freakin cold swim, but a swim.  After the first week of June is over I'm pretty much open due to having summers off.  Looking forward to getting this on the schedule.

This will hopefully be my second. I did Louisville in 2007.  Not much time left on my knee, so hopeully I can make it through the training. After that I can walk if I have to.
