I hate that!  I usually toss on sweats and go home to shower but then I smell it until I get home.

I shower at the pool and still smell.  I think a hour or so in the pool allows the chemicals to soak into my skin.

What's really funny is when I'm on the trainer the day after a swim (no pool smell on me) and after I start sweating, my sweat smells like the pool.

Okay maybe i am the only one, but I love smelling like the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!! It reminds me of my childhood, my cousins and brothers ( I have 5) would spend hours upon hours at the pool in the summer and in the winter though just not as much because it was cold.

You are not alone, I also like smelling like the pool, though for different reasons. The pool smell afterwards reminds me of the fact that I did my swim despite the fact that don't enjoy swimming indoors, can't wait for summer and outdoor swimming again, but until then I'll bask in the afterglow that is pool smell!

I think I have spent so much time in the pool the smell makes me sick to my stomach.  I swam competively for 10 plus years, lifeguarded indoor and outdoors, and taught lessons throughout college.

To me the smell reminds me of the workout.  If the workout was good - it's a good memory; if the workout was bad - it's a bad memory.

Was a busy work day today so didn't get to log on...and I come back to find 2 new pages of posts!  Speaking of the pool...I am one of those that doesn't mind the smell.  I think my pool (outdoor heated) does not use as much as others I have been too (the indoor ones always seem horrible to me...I think the steam and chlorine get in the air and can't escape).  Only thing I don't like is it stinks up my house when I hang my pool stuff up to dry.  I have started shutting it in our 2nd bathroom with the air vent running.

My plans for the week...today I got a good hill repeat run in, Wed I am taking my bike to work and will ride after, Thur I plan on running again, not sure about xmas (maybe a light run and/or some pushups/situps), Sat I am going paintballing (which will be a good workout).

Managed to get a run done today, it was slow(butt still a little achy, but was fine at slower pace), but it was a run.  Also did a little bike ride on the trainer and a little bit of upper body strength work.  After which I went out in search of stocking stuffers, almost done, taking daughter out tomorrow to do the final bits, hoping I can get it all done locally and avoid entering a Wallmart.

Hey, can anyone guide me through registering equipment so I can track it's use?  I want to track my shoes, my tires, etc.    Also treadmill, bike, etc.

Thanks!

It's extra mild (it'll be in the high 30s to low 40s) so I may have to finish up my shopping by bike again.

You can set it up by:
1.  Click "Settings"  - it's the wrench icon above the Races button at the top of the screen.
2.  Click on the "Training Log Settings" tab.
3.  Click on the "Equipment Tracker" tab.
4.  Add an Item.

The screen shots are out of order and I'm not sure why.  Look at the file name of each pic.

The order they should go in is:

Settings,
Training Log settings,
Equipment Tracker
Add on item.

I love the pictures Ken!

Anyone know how to delete a training program?  I had planned to start a half marathon program so I imported it but then changed my mind.  I can't figure out how to get rid of the planned workouts.

Settings / Training Log Settings / Log Defaults / Current training plan.  Then use the drop down arrow for Current training plan to select None/Other.

The screen shots are showing up exactly backwards for this one.  So, start at the bottom and go up.

That will only change the plan listed in the "Current Plan Information" link at the top of your blog.

To delete the actual Planned workouts, the most effective way would be to go into your Planned Log and use the Copy/Move/Delete By Date function. Instructions with screen shots can be found here.

The "Current Training Plan" dropdown doesn't delete workout data because it's possible to have workouts from multiple training plans going at one time, such as mixing a marathon plan with a triathlon plan. It's also possible to have two consecutive triathlon plans in your log.

Ok, I was tentatively planning out my 2010 race year and it seems like triathlon entry fees have been going up quite a bit.  I just wanted to see if this is just where I am at and how the fees compared across the continent.  My cheapest is still $60 for a local small sprint race.  The most is $130 for a famous local race (same price for both sprint and olympic).  And these prices are for the early registration.  It just seems to be getting crazy, as $130 is getting to the price range where I am thinking about not doing it.  I remember doing these races just 2 years ago and was paying in the $35-$85 range.

Not only do I do triathlons, but also bike rides and runs.  It is getting to the point where I am probably spending $500+ on entry fees a year.

Yep, entry fees are getting up there.  In the DFW area, sprints range from 40ish to 120ish.

I don't do rides.  Runs are 20-40.

I was wondering what you all thought might be a better way for me to go. I am 5'4" tall and about 132-135 lbs and I have

about 24% body fat. According to my BMI I am within normal range altough on the high end.

Please note I do not own a scale and I don't frat about my body fat or weight to much because my Mother has severe

body image issues and I am the  complete opposite of that. I want to be healthy and in shape.

I build muscle very fast and I am strong  so when I am doing  a lot of weight training I tend not to lose weight but gain,

which I know is normal. I do want to lose about 5 lbs so my question is should I lean out frist with cardio and little to no

weight training or should I keep everything the same.

KSH had an effective rule of thumb for weight/body fat loss during training.

Determine the following:
1.  living calorie requirements (online calculator or metabolic testing) Cr
2.  determine how many calories you use during your daily training.   Ct

Calories for the day = Cr - 300 + Ct

You should be able to weight training and still lose body fat.  Your actual weight may go up.  You also may want to get a reliable body fat measurement.

Make sense?  Or too muddled?

That does make sense, my problem is I bake way to much, muffins, cinnamon buns, breads, pastries, cakes,...mmmm........ I love the fact that I can bake for my kids and I think they love it to, maybe I should look into low-fat/calorie options....but they don't taste as good. When I am serious about training I do cut back but it seems like I don't lose the fat. Maybe I should keep a food dairy, I do like sweets but I don't  overindulge at least I don't think I do. Innocent

I strongly recommend everyone use a food diary every once in a while.  It is a real eye opener for me.

Things like serving size kill me.
