Basically, I'm a doer with a brain, courage and a sense of humor. Can't have too many of those. What about you? What will you bring to the table to earn your keep, besides wielding a calculator? |

Champion 5376 PA | Subject: RE: Important skills to have for the coming zombie-pocalypse I'm a great coordinator / project management skills. I'm also very rather calm, technical and detailed oriented. That pretty much explains how I ended up working as a PM for large IS projects at a large retailer. Marksmanship skills are exceptional, as well as my gunsmithing skills. I'm not much of a hunter but I do know how. I am more experienced with fishing so that may help being as we will be out on a rig. You will also enjoy the fact that you get dibs on all shellfish I catch since I am allergic. LOL I know people who would see that as a HUGE positive. |

Also, I want to be selective in my brain choosing... I would go after those who wronged me first... last laugh and all. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: Important skills to have for the coming zombie-pocalypse Is there any kind of inviroment that is particularily bad for zombies? I'm thinking you could move to the north. Since they are dead and don't produce body heat, they would freeze up pretty fast... Or maybe the desert? They would dry up into zombie raisins within a week... so, am I safe in Vegas? |

I'm not banking on cold weather. Especially since my chances of grown food is restricted. I mean, who wants to kill 10,000 zombies only to lose a few fingers and toes to frostbite? I certainly don't want to starve to death either. |

So now we're talking about demo possession too? It's a mean calculator (RPN). Need stuff fixed? Especially complex mechanical and electrical equipment? You are going to need a mechanical engineer. That oil rig of your is going to need a lot of maintenance in therms of welding, fabrication etc.. MacGuyer was an hack. I'm no slouch with the firearms either. This is starting to feel like an interview |

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: Important skills to have for the coming zombie-pocalypse We haven't gotten to the dance-off part of the interview yet. Not too long ago, I researched, found and replaced a relay in my vehicle. This was after the guy at Autozone told me that I needed to replace all of my turn signals (yes, ALL) in order to repair the one that wasn't working. Resourceful, logically inclined, skeptical. Not a bad hand when troubleshooting. Note to Sams Club squatters: I just returned from le Club. I counted no less than 60 overhead sky lights. Good luck with that! Ok, I win the Best Strategy for Surviving the Zpocalypse award!!! Evidence the people who aborted their plans and now want a piece of land on my oil rig. We'll find a decommissioned rig, one that is no longer active/producing oil (see - already researching!). I think we should rope off some water, put in lap lanes. Rappel into the water, climb back up. Strength training or recreation - depends on how you look at it. Rig motto: Don't Survive - Thrive! |

Worked as a mechanic all through college (ASE certified in several areas). Restored a classic corvette. Can weld, run a mill, lathe, saws etc. Can solder & do basic electrical work. Own a company that designs custom automation and robotic machinery (stuff you see on "How it's Made"). So yeah, I'm pretty comfortable with getting my hands dirty. But I know what you mean. There are a lot of engineers out there who can barely work a screwdriver. |

We already know there are skylights, that's why we shrugged off the argument about needing a generator. We have light via the skylights. Zombies cannot get onto the rooftops and the building is secure. No wood to burn and there is a limit to the number of doors they can attempt to come through. The ones available are easily secured via the vast amount of materials inside. Supplies and security make this a great place to hunker down. It's a modern day castle. |

There are a lot of engineers out there who can barely work a screwdriver. Nice, sounds like me minus the engineer part I considered it but I just keep buying milsurp by the case. Consider this.. for the cost of an IM registration, you could have well over 4,000 rds of 5.45x39. That gives you a lot of tumbling AK-74rds sure to bounce around inside a zombie skull. I even think your idea of trying .22LR first is a great idea. It's less than $20 for a 550rd box of Remington gold. I have a GSG-Pk I'm turning into an SBR so that it's a great, lightweight zombie stomper. |

Do they mow down the zombies with all that firepower, do they set up safe zones, or are they overcome themselves? If Hollywood is any indication, I think the military fights the good fight for awhile until mounting losses and a breakdown in communication and chain of command lead to wide-scale defections. Some soldiers band with survivors and go into hiding—in some cases even heroically leading groups of survivors to safety, while others go rogue, hoarding supplies, enslaving hot chicks, and putting down any resistance, human or zombie. |

I would think would spreads quickly and they would defend certain critical sites like power and water plants but the civilians would be left to fend for them self’s. |

I just pulled over 15 pounds of sweet potatoes out of a 4' X 4' patch of my sidewalk strip. I'll bring my potted meyer lemon tree (for vitamin C) and my seed collection. Have to warn you, all those plants will need fresh water - the desalination aspect of this enterprise is crucial. I can build some new raised beds on a pontoon boat this fall, for practice. --> Wait.
