pdbman - 2010-10-05 12:05 AM So Yanti. Is that your pet or someone that stopped by for a little visit while you were taking a nap?

That was my beloved Chilean rose-hair tarantula named ... Rosie.

In the uncropped, unresized photograph, you can see how she is actually a metallic pinkish-purple color. Absolutely gorgeous.

My son used to have a pet tarantula. One of the easiest pet to take care of. We probably wouldn't have bought one, someone gave it to my son as a gag gift and we decided to keep it. Great pet. It wasn't expensive, didn't eat a lot, doesn't stink, don't have to take it for walks. He wasn't very cuddly though.

I think we'll allow for a small percentage over, but nothing outrageous. If you finish the month at 147% then you should have set your goal higher to begin with.

I think we allow up to 105%  Goal raising is allowed and encouraged.  In fact, I think everyone on this team should raise their goals

I upped my goals so up increase yours.

*tap tap tap* is this thing on?  ok Team - it's noon on Monday (est) and it's a dead-heat with both teams at 3.7% to goal.

Who's gonna push us over the edge!?!?! Will it be you?

GO TEAM BT!!!!!

Shouldn't your team colors be Bronx Blue & White??????

we may be out of it but we still have the power to keep the evil empire OUT OF 1st PLACE! - it's the little things *sigh*

Fear not - the Yank's will probably be swept and they are going nowhere good in the future - too old!!!

*PHEW* i thought we were gonna have a challenge within a challenge here - glad to see you are on the 'correct' side of that issue now as for this challenge - YOU'RE TEAM SHARES A VERY STRONG RESEMBLANCE TO THE YANKEES -  YOU'RE GOING DOWN, TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow Ghoulie CRUSHERS!  As you can see from my most original of screen names, my name is Bill.  I just capped off my third season of tris with the Syracuse IM 70.3.  I was a challenge junkie for about a year straight, but have been out of the challenges for a few months.  Need to get moving on my off-season training program...  I've gained 6 lbs. since I crossed the finish line in Syracuse, so at this rate, I'll weigh about 350 by New Years! Embarassed

Biking and running is my focus this month.  I played racquetball at lunch today and will start knocking off the bike/run workouts on Monday.  The one issue I have is that my "pain cave" (basement) is out of commission.  We're awaiting new carpet, hopefully next Tuesday.  Until then, no treadmill or trainer for morning workouts.

Have a great weekend!

CONGRATS on Syracuse, Bill! Did you file a race report???

Thank you!  Yes... here it is... http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=228201
You can read all about my pain and suffering (we do this for fun, right?)

Hello my fellow Ghoulie-Smashers...
Got a run in at lunch... yay.  Got a whole lotta NUTTIN done this weekend.  My pain cave gets new carpeting tomorrow, so I'll be able to get some morning workouts in.

I'm a little behind goals right now, but that was expected.  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Looking forward to some Phillies playoffs this week and all I can say about my Eagles is that it's going to be a looooooooong year.

I have become a designated Phillie's fan this post season as well!

My Rockie's fell short so I pick them because I totally dislike the Braves and Padres and almost chose the Giants just because their closer is so cool but they are divisional and that just seems wrong.

Good luck Team BT - remember if you are tired when your alarm goes off - just hit snooze for 30 or so minutes!

But if we do that we'll only have an hour of training time before the Ghoulies drag their carcasses out of bed!!!!

mbasta - 2010-10-03 5:12 PM I finished all of my scheduled workouts for the weekend! Three days into 4 min of plank a day and finished a 5km race today. Looks like I'm on my own for the planks because my best friend can't do them and my husband hates them.

Think I may steal your plank workout... I definitely need a good core workout!

No problem! I feel stronger already - can't wait to see how I feel at the end of the month. The first day I did it my lower abdominals wouldn't shut up for 3 days.

Late posting here so sorry about that

Another one in Australia on Team BT, month got off to a good start with 9.6% of the bike completed on the first day, should have it around 30% by this weekend.  Run is currently at around 4%, but will hit the treadmill tonight to up that a bit (Run will be my weak link)

Will get around to updating spreadsheet at end of this week, let the Ghoulies wet themselves thinking they are ahead first

Finally...a swim session. Should get in a run tomorrow, and another swim on Wednesday. I did bike yesterday, but that didn't count for the challenge only just so you know I'm not a total slacker :-).
