Hey, thanks! Because of my HM earlier this month my challenge mileage is actually 6.5 miles more than my actual mileage. I plan on going over my challenge goal to compensate for the bonus mileage. Happy Xmas everyone! Ann-Marie |

Just wanted to let everyone know I removed myself from the challenge... I've been battling some ridiculous fatigue lately (I'm wondering if I'm not anemic or something) and literally just crash as soon as I get home from work and struggling to get by at work. Anyway good luck to everyone else! |

Master 7712 Orlando | Subject: RE: RUN the Gauntlet December Challenge Hope everyone had a merry xmas! I hit my challenge goal with today's run Unfortunately, my planned 6 miler turned into a 2.5 miler as I apparently pulled something in my right calf. Still the beach was beautiful, so i had that going for me Ended up going to the pool for a quick 1200 meter swim. Ann-Marie |

Master 1531 TORONTO | Subject: RE: RUN the Gauntlet December Challenge Bah I'm letting my team down. My goals were too aggressive given the holiday season. I'll try and get some good runs in over the next three days but won't be anywhere close to reaching my goals. GO GO GO everyone!! |

Veteran 286 Brisbane, Australia | Subject: RE: RUN the Gauntlet December Challenge Today's run will take me over my goal! Awesome. I'm going to do the 30 min field lactate threshold test to set my training zones. I haven't really been using my zones this season so far (now in recovery week of base 2) as my HR monitor was out of battery so I sent it away and then it just plain died, so it took another week to get a new one. Then I got a garmin forerunner for my birthday so it has only been a few weeks with zones. I get the feeling that my z1 and 2 are too low, because they are based off my MHR. I'll be interested to see the results. All things being equal it should be somewhere around 165-170 as my bike LT HR is 156. I'll let you all know how I go. |

Thats a nice way to cap off a great month. I try to do my testing during races since 15K is right around an hour and it makes the pain more enjoyable since there is a finish line with balloons and I get a bunch of food after . |

Good luck to everyone on finishing strong and healthy this month. Go Team Apres Ski! Funny! Just "squeeze in 30 miles". I'm way behind schedule but still squeezing them in when I can. Went for a hilly 8miles this morning - in PENNSYLVANIA! Nice change from Toronto (which apparently is FREEZING right now). And congrats too to the other Ryan who does manage to find the perfect balance even with a young child and family. Inspiring! |

I try to do my testing during races since 15K is right around an hour and it makes the pain more enjoyable since there is a finish line with balloons and I get a bunch of food after . WOW WHAT AN EPIC FAIL OF A TEST I JUST DID! Not that my effort was bad, just that my HR monitor decided to tell me my HR was 60 when I was nearly at max effort, so my average HR for the 20mins was rubbish. So I took the average from the first 10 minutes when it was working properly (I know, not totally accurate, but better than nothing). I was actually really happy with the effort (6.01km in 30min), just the data result wasn't super awesome. But on the bright side I'm over my goal for the month! Test in a race - I get that, but I don't race enough or at the right distance to be able to rely on it. But I'd like balloons and food after a workout. |
