Here are some more visuals - from last year:

T1 - the lake is right behind the person taking the photo. The green bags are what they will transport up to the finish line afterwards. Don't mind me

Thanks these are great.  The aerial shot is helpful and also explains why it looked like T2 was in the middle of the run!

can you start throwing some ice cubes in the water to keep it cool please.

I really don't care if its wetsuit legal or not as far as the swim goes.  Its just that I bought a wetsuit specifically for this race so I'd hate to not get to use it.  lol

If some storms roll through close enough to race day it might bring the water temps down a bit.

It looks like the swim wave schedule has been updated. I once again will be one of the last waves to start.

Oh, and the still too soon weather forecast from accuweather has the forecast set at a high of 77 degrees and cloudy. Cool

Looks like I'll be in Wave 15.  I've never done a race with two waves of the same AG.  That's got to be confusing during a race not knowing if your being passed by the guy who is 4 minutes behind you or in your own wave.

Oh well, not like I'm going to podium so I guess it doesn't really matter.  lol

I am in the 2nd of 2 waves for my age group, so it won't be an issue for me.

Where are you finding wave start info. On the website I see the 2011 athlete guide and a tentative 2012 weekend schedule.

Wave 6, so lots of swimmers to swim over/by me! Wouldn't that weather be fantastic! It's been so hot here, and I've really been struggling to run in it. On Sunday it was 77 and running was so much better!! Can't believe how close it's getting, my stomach is in knots.

You'll do fine, its no different than an Olympic.  OK, the swim is just a little longer, and the bike is double, and the run is double.  But other than that its the same thing.

Woohoo, light pink swim caps! Guess if they're already divvying up swim waves I better get registered, huh? I didn't procrastinate--I was going to see how my body held up through training and if I made it through the toughest part then I'd sign up. Well, that time is now, so, here goes nothing!

In the FAQ section:

Timing

What are the courses cut off times?
Swim: 1 hour and 10 minutes after the final wave start.
Bike: 5 hours and 30 minutes after the final wave start.
Run: 8 hours and 30 minutes after the final wave start.

I think your helmet has a European safety standard, my guess is it will be ok. FWIW I've only had my helmet looked at once out of 12 races or so.

Do you ever get down to The Texoma area for training. I used to enjoy heading up your way for some long bike rides
