Is everyone else constantly refreshing the athlete tracker to see if there's another update for Yanti? I'm letting others do that and keep my up to date. There seems to be 3-4 Yanti tracking threads going so I just take a peek on occasion. True - I'm trying to decide which is lazier... to scroll through the threads here or to just refresh the '404' search on the athlete tracker. Whichever wins, that's what I'm gonna do. |

Kido - 2013-03-01 3:35 PM cgregg - 2013-03-01 12:26 PM Kido - 2013-03-01 2:46 PM Anyone up to speed with programming? I noticed the new PS4 is coming out. No date, but I'm guessing by Christmas to capitalize on the holiday sales. SO, I'm sure game programers are already working on ps4 based games - which got me wondering. Who is in the lead? Do the programers have to "dumb down" games to work on a system or are the systems too powerful? I'm guessing when the system first comes out, games don't push them. But at the end of a systems run, the games probably want MORE power... I don't do game programming, but I am a programmer and have been around the game development circles for more than a few years. They don't necessarily have to dumb them down, but there are fixed memory constraints that a game developer has to work within. The static hardware also means a fixed resolution for your display, textures for graphics can only be of a certain bit depth, etc... After all of that, then yes, there is the issue of how heavy of a CPU load you can put on the machine and still have acceptable gameplay. When a new system comes out, it is as much about learning what the new hardware can do and how to get the most out of it as it is about creating something new and cool. As a platform matures, developers get better at making good use of what they have available to them. That's what I figured. I could SWEAR that first generation PS3 games, even if they still look/play good/well, seem infirior to modern versions. For example, Assassin's creed vs Assassin's Creed III (with 4 other versions in between). Assassin's creed III looks amazing compared to the first one. And all for the same system. Madden and Unchartered are the same. Madden for 2006 (or whenever the first PS3 came out) looks bad compared to Madden 13. I guess they learn how to optimize the game for the system it's to be played on.
That kind of improvement in graphics can come from more intelligent level design. Smaller areas can use higher quality graphics. Using rendering masks to not fully render things in the distance allows you to have higher quality graphics in the foreground, but that is also the sort of thing that may not have been supported by the units when they first shipped and could have been added in an update.
Just got off the phone with the guy from the Browns, and basically they want to buy Ad space on my site. They're shutting down their message boards and will be directing their traffic to mine and possibly a couple of others, but they want to buy ad space to direct some specific traffic back to them.

Bourbon.... YUCK RYE give me a Rye and Diet coke and I am in like Flynn I need to try more ryes. But I like the "sweetness" of bourbons. Just don't try Canadian Club. I find it too sweet I like Wisers for Rye I do like Crown Royal but it is a bit sweeter. and Gibson's finest is good too. I was on a rum kick for a bit. And I was really liking...ok don't laugh.. I can't see the level and it's scalding, so I'm tipping it back slowly and slowly because I don't want to go too fast and sclad myself. BUT, it never seems to come. (I only have a 1/4 cup left that I just nuked). So it takes 20 seconds before I get a sip. As you were. |
