Rock Hall International (MD)...it's a USAT Regional Qualifier so the top 3rd of each AG qualify. I think we were talking about this in one of the other challenges (Daniels? Weakness?)...weren't you considering coming to this one? |

I was looking for a special qualifier because I doubt I am going to be top 10% unless the field is very, very weak which in my age group is doubtful. I'd have to go sub 2:30 based on last year's results. I think I'm close especially given the course. I see it's very flat but is wind an issue there? I also see they have a partcipant's list so could do some Athlinks stalking to maybe get an idea of depth of current field. |

Wind can be an issue but usually that early in the morning it's not too bad that time of year. It's one week before Eagleman, and more or less the same terrain (pancake flat), but Rock Hall has a little more in the way of wind suppression as opposed to the tidal marshes around Eagleman. |

See you at the pool!So I walked out to the car today to drive to the pool for a quick swim session at lunch today, and my car battery is D-E-A-D. You gotta be kidding me. I went for a 4 mile run instead. At this rate, I'm going to have to swim every day the rest of the week to make n+1 ETA: That was pretty callous of me. I'm sorry your battery died. That sucks. PS See your butt at the pool Consider it done. Got in about 1K yards exactly (900 meters) as a recovery swim after my tempo run. |

I already have to pick between Boise 70.3, another great local Oly, and a marathon that I want to run all scheduled on the same day. Besides, looks like you got some pretty fast old guys in Iowa. I'm still crossing my fingers for Kona lottery and if I get picked everything changes in a heartbeat. |

That sounds like a great workout. I have a very hard time with speed focused sessions. I have a hard time gauging my speed and holding back enough that I am not gassed before finishing the workout. I like the easy/recovery swims between hard efforts. Maybe that would help. I am trying to talk myself into taking a late lunch and getting my +1 swim in today. I know what you all would say so I better get moving. |

Lottery winners are announced April 15th. Getting to Kona anyway I can and running Boston are at the top of my bucket list. Oh, and I just got back from +1 swim. Yay!! Got an eight mile run this evening then I think I'll need a beer or two. Seems like Friday today. |

Pro 6520 Bellingham, WA | Subject: RE: n + 1 swim challenge Lottery drawing is for this October's race. If selected you have to complete another WTC 70.3 or IM by the end of August to validate your slot. That's why I'm holding Boise 70.3 open if I need to race there. BQ for me is 3:30. My next marathon is in two weeks and I'm shooting for 3:55ish. Goal is to get down around 3:45 this year and qualify next year. Might take another year but I am very contend to smell the roses and enjoy my races along the way. And two swims a day in just crazy. Shame on me for just two swims a week. You all set some pretty high bars. |
