Sulcus - 2012-05-04 12:10 PMIf this is the end, many many thanks to Bobby and everyone else. This was the best Mentor group I have been part of, even if I was dead weight for most of its existence. You all truly changed the way that I view training and, possibly, even life in general from simply letting me lurk along with you. Now - who has the pizza again? I need a slice!
Who are you? Ba-hahahahah ah ha ha haaaaaa. I kid. I kid.

tdl1972 - 2012-05-05 12:57 AMOh, I see how it is ... you wait til I go out of town and then pack up the house, take the dog and run.  Well, you're not getting away that easy.  I'm calling my lawyer!!
I've got a mind to get a lawyer, too. Due to some help from this group you went from beginner to Super-STUD!!! I nearly fell over and hit my head numerous times when I see the distances you know throw down. Where's the gratitude

But, but, but....how am I going to race vicariously anymore??

Seriously, though, thanks for being a great, crazy, inspiring mentor, Bobby!

x2  The group is only as good as the mentor.  I've been in four groups so far and my experience has been it's either a crazy listing of everyone's daily workouts with no chatter - I don't even think anyone reads the posts - more so a bulletin board people post to OR the mentor is too busy and is never heard from after the first week or two.  So KUDOS TO YOU BOBBY FOR BEING SO AWESOME!!

Totally agree. BEST MENTOR GROUP EVER!! Thanks Sherlock.

If I were even an inch of awesome perhaps I would've rubbed a nano gram of that awesomeness on you and you wouldnt embrace a blog title like Slacker!! Like that scene out of the Godfather: "You disgrace our name!" You are so lucky I still need a thunder buddy when the storms roll in. So lucky scary voice Finch!!

Kudos? Kudos! Koo-does?!?! I don't want freaking lousy kudos, I want money. Specifically part of that raise in paycheck you got not too long ago. We all know the new line on your Resume that reads: "DreamChaser Mentor Group Triathlete of the Year 2011 Winner" was the shining gold nugget that helped make it happen. All I want is 29% of the raise for two years - screw the effing kudos. I want cash baby!! I may be a squirrel but nuts and acorns don't pay the bills and neither do imaginary kudos floating from the Internet. IM ON FIIIRE!!!!

Well, you know, DC does like to play pranks as folks will recall on 4/1 (and in years past). So perhaps, in another attempt to roust the group he tossed out the idea of closing out the group in an effort to fire everyone up a bit. Maybe, just maybe, he told the group that he was shutting it down so that everyone would start posting like crazy and training even harder. This must be a strategic play by a seasoned mentor....a real master mind.

Hmmmmmm....well played DC.

Couldn't be farther from the truth, George.  I like ending this on a laugh though; rather than getting all sad and sappy.

I have only been absent about a year, long story.  Looking at doing a 1/2 in June, hope everyone is doing well.

Thinking about the REV3 in Williamsburg.  I moved from Wisconsin to Virginia late last year.  Now I have some different options to choose from.

I've heard great things about that Williamsburg race...a little far for me (3.5 hours).
