Great job ladies.

After a bit (2+ months of little to no tri related exercise) I'm excited to report that I've designed a schedule to get in some swimming (2x per week), biking (trainer 2-3x per week) and strength training (body weight workouts 2x per week).  I also will do my exercise class on Mondays and hope to hike with DS on weekends when weather permits. 

Perhaps I'll add running back in after New Years or maybe I'll try to ramp up the biking this Spring for a local Oly AquaBike in June...

I'm also slowly dropping some pounds.  Only 15 more to stop being obese and move into the overweight category.

Found a perfect race for Tammy Turtle!!

OMG, where is this?? We were supposed to have a Tour de Cookie last year, but the RD flaked out. This one's custom made for me!

We have those here in the St Louis area too.  And now we have a new one that I just found out about yesterday.  Same concept, except it's cupcakes instead of doughnuts.  From the website http://bigshark.com/about/2012-gateway-cup-cake-and-bottle-cap-dash-pg867.htm :

"A classic battle between those who eat and those who compete.  The Gateway Cup Cake will pit speedy runners against speedy eaters in a battle between foot and mouth. Participants can deduct up to 5 minutes per Cupcake at 5 Cupcake Stations along the race course for a maximum of 25 minutes off of their finishing time.

The Rules.

• Jilly's Cupcake Stations will be positioned at KM 1, KM 2, KM 3, KM 4 and just before the Finish Line. Cup Cakes must be consumed at each rest station in the Jilly's Cupcake Consumption Corral. Failure to keep the Cup Cakes down will result in disqualification.
• Only one cupcake can be eaten per station. Please use wit and tactics.There will be two types of cupcakes available per Jilly's Cupcake Station. Mini Cupcakes- worth a 2 minute time deduction or the 'Standard'- worth a 5 minute time deduction."

I'd love to try this (or maybe the bottle cap dash) but I'm already registered for a 10k trail race that day.  Maybe next year though!

It's Nov. 4th in Katy TX... here's a description, custom made for you Tammy!!

"The Tour de Donut is a unique bicycle race where riders embark on an appetizing 28-mile journey with rest stops along the way serving as many delectable donuts as you can eat. For EACH tasty donut consumed, the rider is awarded a tempting 5-minute time credit. Eat enough delicious donuts, and you can finish the race before you even started! "

It was fun to do the last tri of the season with Hilde.  I guess I also did my first tri this season with Hilde too!  (Okay, so for the record there was only a first and a last for me!).  Race report is now up for anyone interested. 

I wish this race was closer, because this sounds like a race I could win.  I can really put down some donuts!!  My daughter is also still counting the months for the all-you-can-eat blue bell ice cream run that we had to miss last year!

Daaaaamn - congrats Tammy!!!  You've come such a long way since I've gotten to know you!!!! 

Looks like we have Tammy vs Tammy type of weekend going on.... want to wish Tammy Turtle all the best kinds of luck as she conquers her first IRONMAN race on Sunday!!!!!!  She has trained like a machine and is ready to go...

Tammy Tucker is going out to do a 25K trail run tomorrow after completing her first marathon last Sunday, I don't know WHAT she was thinking when she signed up for these 2 races so close together, but I have no doubt she will crush it!!

Go MMMers!!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes- I've got a pretty good case of nerves going (mostly about the cold water; I'll breathe a BIG sigh of relief once that part's behind me!), but I'm ready. It should be fun. There will be a lot of familiar faces out there - both running and volunteering, not to mention cheering, so that will keep me going. And knowing that you guys are rooting for me too! Send me lots of warm vibes from 7-9 am mountain time!

I've got some awfully bad news everyone, which I just heard from Andrea... one of our own MMMers, Suzielea (Suzie) has passed away, Nov. 6th.  She had a heart transplant as a child.  Here is what Andrea wrote me:  (with her permission)
