Starting a fashion trend today.  Woke up early to go swim.  After my swim putting my suit on and realize I didn't bring any socks other than what I wore to the gym.

So right now wearing black suit with white ankle socks on, it's quite a look.

If you can't tell, I am procrastinating, should be working on a presentation instead of posting here...

Can I forward this to my husband?  I keep arguing with him about the short white socks look.  At least he doesn't do the black socks with sandles.

And ditto on the procrastination.  I'm looking at it as killing time until my noon swim.

Sure thing, I LOL every time I get up from my desk and see my ankles..

I have 2 pages done in my presentation so far, 1. the title page, 2. a page someone else sent me.  Steve you need to get on M$ and have them make PPT write the presentation for the user.

Tracy, I think you should do the Army 10 miler as a tune up for the Marine Corps Marathon and come on up.  I'll do a cookout and everything.  I think I will do the Army 10 miler also for the warmup.

You wear a suit to work?  Like everyday?  I thought you worked in gov't or did you say you worked in a funeral home?

It is better than forgetting your underwear at home.  I came to the gym dressed to do a bike class and then went swimming. When I went to get dressed, I had dress pants, a blouse, socks and shoes, nothing else.  That was a big dilemma.  I was headed to a client meeting.

My first half ironman, improving on the Savageman, and then a FULL MARATHON a month later. I don't know if I am that much of a studdette.

I do have a serious question.  I was wondering the scheduling of applying sunscreen during my half iron.  So far my longest race has been 4 hours long and it was cold out so I was mostly covered up from the sun.  However, with my half I'm expecting 6+ hours and I'm sure I'll need to reapply.  The base coat I apply before the race should last through the bike, but I'll need to reapply before the run.  I am nervous about using a sray sunblock in transition because I don't want to coat someone else's gear with oil, or shoot someone in the eye.  But the cream stuff takes so long and I can't reach my back and shoulders very well.  I feel silly for asking this, but these are the little things I am thinking about as I get closer to race day.  Please advise.  My gut is saying to not worry about the other people and use the spray, but I don't want to be "that person."

Hey hey!  I finally got my new bike!  I know I am way too excited, but this thing rocks!  I just brought her home last night and I'm on shift today (all 24 hours) so I won't get to ride until tomorrow.  And then the weather is supposed to be very cold and maybe rain.

I'll post pictures soon, I've got to head over to my album and put them there first.

I'm stoked!

(I almost always wear white socks - even when dressing up.  I hate tall socks!)

I am a gov't contractor, I go to meetings all day so have to wear a suit.  Actually I prefer it, suits and shirts go to cleaners and come back pressed.  No decisions on what to wear really don't have to iron anything, much easier.

dalessit - 2009-03-23 2:43 PM oops, haven't done that in awhile, forgot I was on my wife's laptop and typed a response.

How many of her posts are yours?

For me it depends on the intersection, most of the time I'm a turn lane user.  Granted, I don't live in a huge city and most of my rides are on relatively safe streets.  If I'm pulling a child in the trailer, I'm using sidewalks, crosswalks and side streets.

Probably 10-15, she is in a mentor group so that has gotten her post count up.

She's in a mentor group but not ours!?  Is that a reflection on us or you? Tongue out Wait, I've spoken with you wife so I already know the answer to that one.  YOU, ALL YOU BABY!!!  (JJ)

HAHA I told her she could pick any group but this one.

Was this in fear of her being better than you???

Ok, here she is (although I didn't pay attention to the valve stem locations when I took these - ahh well):

I'm not so sure I'll keep the bag on vs just velcro-ing a tube and levers under the seat.  I am pretty stoked!  I can't wait to get out and ride!

Hey Jeremy, how did you mount your Garmin there? I have the 305 as well, and bought the quick release thing as well, but with my aero i have no idea how to mount it. You and I very similar bikes... except mine in aluminum.

Very nice bike.

As for mounting the garmin they make a few universal mounts that go on your aerobars that you can use to mount computers.

I just bought a piece of pvc, painted it black, drilled holes in each side of the pvc.  Used 2 zipties to connect it between the bars and viola, a nice mount for my PowerTap.  I'll take pic's tonight.

Trevor - Here is what I used for the Garmin:

https://www.bikesportmichigan.com/shop/product.php?productid=16573&cat=259&page=1

If you call Bikesport (or whatever retailer) ask for the wider version.  This one is ~1 inch, the one got spans the width between the aero bars.

*For the purpose of the public picture, it is in fact a CO2 cartridge
