Just keep training the benefits of that far outweigh managing a peak and taper. In the big picture of gaining fitness, that's Mickey Mouse stuff. |

Good morning!! My trainer ride is done - I officially suck...I am so slow on that thing. I wonder if the garmin is reading it wrong or if I am really that slow.
I had a sucky eating day yesterday - back to clean today. It was the dog's birthday - the kids wanted a cake, so I made them one. Does anyone else celebrate their dogs birthday??? Edited by DDVMM 2012-02-15 5:26 AM |

I ordered some Oiselle long distance running shorts and got them in the mail yesterday. They are so comfortable!!!!!!!! Love, love them. Wish they were a bit cheaper, so I could get some more. |

Abbey's birthday is February 14th too! (although we gave her that birthday because she was a rescue and the vets said she seemed about 8 months old when we adopted her in October so we gave her the February birthday). |

Someone is bright and perky this morning. Knocked out 14 and a quarter this morning in the mist and humidity. I feel so much better running in warm temps. Something I learned on my little 2 hour jog is that a good running partner is way more valuable than a shrink. Especially one without a filter that will tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Good morning! I'm finally starting to feel back to normal. Both my runs yesterday & today went well. I had to pick up the pace to keep my HR from falling below Z1. That's not typical for me. I'm usually having to slow down to not have it go over. Could I be making some progress??? I'm bad about remembering my dogs birthdays. Two are sisters, and it's sometime in March. The baby (Princess Harper) is October. I'll have to look at her papers to get the exact date. We have not done a cake before, but for most holidays we give them treats of some sort. Although yesterday they got nothing but lots of love. |

( fact: until kids are 3 they dont really know what a birthday party is either. by the time they are 4, they can plan one.) Also - rode the trainer this morning. Watched the first episode of the new season of Walking Dead. I am afraid this show is going down hill fast (a la Lost). Oh well, still better than anything else on. Fact: Until the age of 4 kids' bday parties are excuses for parents to get intoxicated and have fun on giant inflatable slides and/or obstacle courses. WTF is a doggie bakery??? I just found out that there are canine optometrists since one of my dogs has cataracts (sp?). This blew my mind. I LOVE the Walking Dead. If the show goes downhill I'm going to be pissed. Shane needs to slowly get more crazed every episode. The need to get off that farm so they can infuse some new characters. |

Now wait, I have a kid, and my dogs are still the center of attention. I'll admit he's 21, but our dogs are very spoiled. When he was younger they may not have been as spoiled, and our son was the center of attention, but they were still spoiled rotten. |

Member 117 Boulder, Colorado | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Hey everyone! I haven't been on here much since it's spring and that's the semester when my schedule is always insane, but I've been popping on once in a while to catch up. Still training for my upcoming marathon (DC RnR on March 17th). I have my 18 miler this weekend and 20 next weekend and then it's taper time. I'm really looking forward to this race! It should be a good time. We also celebrate our dogs' birthdays. We got them off their adoption paperwork. I don't know if they're right, but whatever. We have no human kids - the dogs are our hairy kids. It actually worked out that our wedding ended up being on the same day as our older dog's birthday, so I made her a shirt to wear at the BBQ (we had a BBQ in the backyard, it was great) that said "I am the birthday princess." There was also a separate birthday cake for her (and several others who all had birthdays that day or the next day - it was odd how many there were). That's as close as we've gotten to having a dog birthday party though. Usually they just get an extra special dinner. Jade and Max (my parents' dog) at our wedding: "I am the birthday princess" was on the back of her shirt in rhinestones. Edited by ReginaPhalange72 2012-02-15 11:56 AM |
