Morning TAN!
Getting everything ready for a local Wine Fest tomorrow. Should be an interesting day, we'll see if any of this stuff sells.

Jim, learn to scull and go sculling on Lake Meade!

Crossfit. All the cool kids are doing it.

Too spenzive...

That would be fun (Wine and Sculling) - expensive though, I suppose.

ALSO:

2 shots apple pie flavored moonshine with 1 shot bourbon over crushed ices.  You're welcome...

We got a new drainage engineer at our office.  He's pretty good at the drainage part BUT came to me after struggling to find a file he needed to update because he couldn't find it.  He thought it could be on someone's private drive.  He has also been out of the engineering "game" for a while due to the economy.

"I think it's on someone's private drive or they didn't save it"

"I don't think so - we put everything on the job server"

"I can't find it"

"do you know the file name?"

"yes"

"did you do a search for it?"

"I looked everywhere"

"But did you use the search function?"

* lost and confused look *

"let me try"

Typed the name of the file in the box in the upper right corner of the windows explorer window (windows 8)  2 seconds later, all the files with that name popped up.  Found one with the date the last one was printed.  BOOM, there was the file.

"Whoa, cool"

Now I have the confused look - didn't know how to use "search"?  OK, getting him up to speed may take a LITTLE longer than I thought.

Honestly, if I wasn't so frugal, I would.  They seem to be fun and work.  But $120 A MONTH????  Forget it.  Crazy thing is, I just dropped $120 on booze the other day - $300 on golf stuff, $350 on OTHER golf stuff.  $100 to get my Ipad fixed.  None of this I batted an eye at.  But Crossfit seems too expensive?  Or the $400 a year for hot yoga?

Crazy.

I have an 11 mile tough mudder race tomorrow that I didn't train for AT ALL.  This is going to hurt...

Maybe that will get my on the road to activity.  OR turn me away from it indefinitely...

It is expensive. I joined for a month to try to prep for the next round of Army training. I don't know if I'd pay that much regularly. I'm hoping I just learn a bunch so I am more competent on my own. The instructors are good, and there's a decent focus on Olympic lifting

Snerk, I don't know why, "litter of piglets" just sounds hilarious

We're just gonna be crazy cat ladies for now, like Goggs and Tangerines.

If we want kid/s later and can't have 'em, we'll just go and get 'em.

Hey there Mrs. Yanti! Congrats! And nothing wrong with kittehs. They're better than kids because you can just fill the bowl then leave for a couple days and they don't care.

so, i'm cat-sitting for my neighbor.  i walk into his house this morning and there are ANTS EVERYWHERE, specifically centered around the cat food dishes (cat eats wet food so the ants are feasting on the little bits remaining from dinner last night).  there were no ants last night.  first of all...ew gross....i felt like they were crawling all over me all morning.  second...what is my responsibility here?  i cleaned up the bowls but still had to feed the cat and she hides when i'm in the house - so i left the food on the floor and ran late to work!  should i call him and tell him?  should i put down ant traps?  should i be worried cause my house shares a wall with his?

I'd just call and let them know.

I'd also worry a little if I shared a wall, especially if there's food out regularly.

That's a tough one.  Being the helpful guy I think I am.  I would track the ants to where they are getting in the house and squirt some ant gel made by Combat in the hole. then wipe them up with a wet paper towel.  In Vegas, ants are the one thing that become a problem.  Some say scorpions, but I have never seen one in my house or yard.  I have seen some black widows and we get the occasional roach carcass, but it's that ants that are the biggest nuisance.  We have learned how to keep them out (don't leave food out) and IF they get in.  Terminate them without prejudice ASAP and put the poison gel at there means of egress.  The eat it then take it back to the hive, supposedly.

How long is he gone?  It could become a mess if it goes unchecked.  They will get everywhere.
