I have been absent from helping with the posting challenge but I am struggling to keep on track with the training. Last night did some errands (I ran in the morning) and came home to tummy not feeling right. This morning I have MAJOR GI issues - where it seems that my body doesn't want to keep anything (sorry TMI). Got some strength and 5 miles on tap today - will see how the day progresses since I really don't need any accidents. GI issues aren't fun. I get really apprehensive if my tummy is feeling a little off. I would hate to be out and about if an emergency came up. Me too - I luckily run a loop of .7 miles around the house - so if an emergency comes up I can sneak through the backyard since the loop touches the front of my house and a quick path to the back of the yard. I just don't like feeling like this - my tummy started giving me pain last night after dinner - I had some mushrooms that are deep fried (3) and I thought the frying was what screwed up my tummy. Slept great (Yay for puppy sleeping 10-5:45 when hubby's alarm went off) but then had tummy issues this morning. Pain is a constant dull pain with other sharper pains and the frequent trips to the ladies room. Will see how lunch goes and go from there - it might be a run/walk tonight with a lot more walk then run. I'm not a fan of loop runs but I can see how they have their advantages in some situations. I just can't imagine running around the block again and again and again. Now that I think about it, a few years ago I was running 50+ laps on an indoor track to meet my training schedule. Bathrooms were always close by. |

Elite 2640 Ontario, Canada | Subject: RE: Ghoulies October: GHOULIE CRUSHERS! I did it! Training complete for the day and made up for missed strength training yesterday. I did the strength before the run and did I ever feel it! My legs are heavy enough as is with all the muscle (not a joke - they are pretty much all muscle, I 'hide' my fat in my belly) so running right after training was... fun. I did 180 squats! |

Elite 2640 Ontario, Canada | Subject: RE: Ghoulies October: GHOULIE CRUSHERS! Someone must have accidently altered my number instead of their own. When I got to my run area of the spreadsheet it said I completed 50.6, which was wrong. I had left it with 41 and increased it to 46 today. Did anyone try to change their run to 50.6 completed? Double check that it's updated, we need all the credit we can get! |

"Passengers" is along the lines of "Sixth Sense" or "The Others" but not as good. |

I'm hopeful seeing as the weather looks bad that the pool will be nice and quiet at least, thats if all the lanes aren't taken up by squad training for once! Catch you all tomorrow! Good for you making it happen anyway. After my tri on Sept 5 my preferred pool closed for a month of maintenance. I went to the next closest pool and it was so poorly organized I never went back. The swimmers didn't know the rules of lane sharing (I am not an expert at all, but I know enough that none of the more advanced lane users get angry at me) and during so called "fitness swim" time this other pool lets tons of kids an adults stand around and get in the way of lane swimmers (this is reserved for public swim time at my usual pool). To make matters worse, someone had so much perfume on that it seemed to cover the final 1/3 of my chosen lane like gasoline on water. (I'm sensitive to fragrances but I can't imagine that is was nice for anyone else in the pool.) So, my pool reopened at the end of September but my month off put me in a state of inertia that I have yet to break. I think November... I feel for you - some people have no idea! I actually got my own lane for a while and then just 2 people who seemed to hang around at the ends and not swim much but they kept out of my way so its all good. Before this challenge I actually hadn't been swimming since my last tri back in April....I avoid it that much! |

Of course you can bike!!!! One-handed. :D (ducks and runs) Do not, under any circumstances, take advice on what to do while injured/ill from me. However, upright trainer/stationary should still be an option. Or how about unicycling! (As I said, do NOT listen to me). Hahaha - my daughter has been asking me if we could get a unicycle to add to the mix of other bikes! Sorry to hear about the brace - sounds VERY annoying! Maybe you should get a unicycle. My husband did a 100km mtb ride the other week and there was a 50km version too which a guy on a unicycle did....50km on a unicycle off road! |

Master 1346 Gold Coast | Subject: RE: Ghoulies October: GHOULIE CRUSHERS! Weekend plans include 2 swims and 2 short runs for the challenge and then hopefully a decent bike ride too because I haven't taken it out this week so far and it's feeling unloved in the garage. On top of that I have to get a white shirt, black pants and dark red nail polish for my Mia from Pulp Fiction costume for tomorrow night party. A friend lent me the wig at least. Also have to get a costume for my husband. He was going as Marky Mark but now claims to be having a fat week so I think the options are Forest Gump or....thats about it right now! 90s is the theme anyway. Oh, and then theres the obligatory grocery shop, house clean and I have to pop into work briefly tomorrow for a bit. |

My PT was encouraging, he thinks the soreness is overall muscle groups that have been deconditioned balking equally about the work and not any extension of injury. I can get back on my trainer this weekend for 25 minutes and the shuttle comes back next week. Just wanna know why they make ice packs so cold that I am shivering on the table? |

Awww, you are really not having a great week! I'm sorry to hear that. Good news that its not an extension of injury though. Maybe run yourself a nice hot bath to soak in post ice packs...? |
