I think I neatly avoid that by always being the last one in ... also, different hash groups are different 'round the world. The Bali ones don't chant much--mostly they're too focused on getting sloppy drunk as fast as possible. Some even before the run!

I guess here, we also have transport, so nobody has to drive, and people get really smashed. However, that's not all of them--I'd say about a quarter are really shytefaced, half are buzzed to sloppy, and a quarter, like me, don't actually drink at all. I'm the one making out with the drunk chick and the drunk guy at the same time in the back of the minivan on the ride home
