As do I.  Is it as hot there as it is here?  It's 110 in the shade and my air conditioning unit sounds like a dying sheep.

Yes...  And we got some rain the last few days.  I was hoping that would cool things off, but nope.  Just made it worse because now it's 110 PLUS humid as the rain dries up.  Ick.

We are having a cool front this week.
Except Wednesday, the freak 99-degree day. All 80s all the time. Heaven.

Cheri was complaining that Chicago was too cold in the mid 70's.  I would kill for that right now.

That sounds heavenly!!  We will be in the 100's for highs until October .. this is the time of year we just get sick of it since it's been hot since May.  We desert people get cranky!

I don't get mad untill end of Sept.  I expect July, August and most of Sept to be hot.  But when it's october, it get's tolerable.  But when it doesn't?  When I go for a long ride/run that last week of sept or first week in October and it's still 110?  I gets mads...

Loved every second of it, but I am SERIOUSLY glad olympics are over.  I get my life back.  No more missed long rides to watch tv...  (I'm sure I will find other excuses).  But now I don't have to run home and think how I will get my training in plus all the olympics.

Might even get some time to hit golf balls again...

So we were in Vegas this last week and took my brother in law downtown.  That place is like a circus wow.  I could have sat a stared all night, but then I would have been a creepy guy too.

There is something cool about old Vegas.  I know all the little hideaways that are a lot of fun.  Plus it's WAY cheaper.

We're back from a weekend at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Saw lots of half naked redneck women. It was mostly not people you'd want to see half-naked.

That's almost always the case.  Even the "toptional" pools here.  The hotties stay covered up (if a thong and tiny top is covered up).  The ones that go completely topless?  Meh...

Note: do not go topeless at "toptional" pools in Vegas.

I don't mind if anyone does.  I don't mind sneaking a peak.  It's just the ones I really hope would?  Don't.

Toward the end of the day on the lake a boat of hotties went topless. Which led to a fight between two groups of drunk rednecks. Shocking.

Morning TAN. Took the day off work to play in a charity golf outing with my father. I need to have a relaxing day today because Obama comes into town tomorrow and I'll be going nuts for about 6 hours during his visit. Not because I'm a fan but due to security issue I'm resposible for.

My ex is trying to move my kids there with her. She is telling me how great it will be and rainbows will fly out of the animals butts they have. I'm waiting to find out what city/county she is looking to move to. All I know it's away from the city and in the hills. Besides her just being the better parent she is saying that growing up there will be better for the kids. What do you think Meh?

i dunno, i don't have kids.  plenty of people grow up in cities and turn out fine.  plenty of people grow up in mountains and turn out terrible.  it's not really a magical land or something.  i would be fine raising kids here one day.  i would also be OK doing so in so. cal. as well.

"in the hills," whatever that means, doesn't help much, 70% of virginia is in the blue ridge mountains.

but it's your right to tell her no.  and honestly, you should.  unless he's abusive or evil, no kid should be forced to grow up without a father.

I agree. I told her I will take the kids and she can move and start her new life like she wants but her point of view is that the kid's home is with her and they just visit me. So if they are in VA or here they will be home and the visiting me part is just secondary.

I told her I will research the areas and I really will. I really do want what is best for my kids but it is very hard for me to believe that just moving to VA will make their lives perfect like she says. The main thing is she is in debt here and is not having the life she wanted so she is looking at VA like the promise land. The way she talks life will be perfect for her and that will make the perfect life for the kids to run around in the woods and have a full and better life than they could ever have here in SoCal. Now I disagree with this, she wants to move because it's the best for her and she is doing a big selling job on how if I really love my kids I will let them move to a new perfect life. This is the same old thing she has always done where she will act nice to get what she wants. Ok so say I believe what she says but what happens when she gets mad at me again while she has the kids in VA. How hard will it be for me to talk to them or try to get them or any other normal things a dad should have with his kids. That is the biggest issue for me. I can't trust that with full power over the kids time that she will be the new perfect co-parenting ex wife she is now saying she wants to be.

again, it's a big state and i don't know where she is moving, but VA has a pretty high cost of living.  we are not cali or NY high, but houses are pricey, restaurants are expensive, sales taxes and income taxes are pretty high here.  finances are a terrible arguement.  i don't know how someone who can't co-parent in the same neighborhood thinks it will be easier to do 3,000 miles away.  does she have a job here already?  why VA of all places?  there are certainly cheaper places to live with more job opportunities, like the carolinas.  why now?

if it were me i wouldn't allow my ex to move where i couldn't drive to and see my kids every other weekend like i'm ENTITLED to.
