Hey, Dee - sorry about the pups tooth.  Hope all is healing well.

Robin - have a great time.  Look forward to hearing about it when you return.

Ann - Glad you are going to be able to go on vacation.  Where are you going?  It's good to listen to your body regarding the MCM, however I know you have it in you to do it.  Sorry to hear about the pinkie.  Luckily you don't need that to run. 

Thank you for all the great JU JU on Tuesday.  The day went awesome.  The only thing that would keep me from taking this job if offered would be the money.  Keep your fingers crossed that it is close to what I would like.

Here are some of the benefits:

• 24 days of leave a year, yes, even your first year on the job.
• only 3 years to be vested in the retirement program.  (It was 10 years here).
• Continuous sick leave up to six months, full pay.  REALLY!!! (Not that I would abuse that having only had one day in the past 9 months and two days in the previous 12 months, LOL.
• After a year, I can take one class a semester for free.
• I would get to go to professional conferences.  The expectation is 2-4 conferences a year.
• My nights and weekends would mostly be free, unless I really want to work them.  Basically, I would only have to work them if we needed some vacation coverage.
• large university campus with lots of cultural offerings

The only down side is the commute.  But Hubbys office is just a couple of miles away.  We could car pool part of the time, and then we could even look at moving.  Either rent or sell the house and move into something smaller and closer and eliminate the commute for both of us. 

The day it self went awesome.  My presentation knocked them dead.  I watched the director keep nodding his head at points that I was making.  Even got people to laugh a few times.  It was a full house.  All seats were taken at the desks, and the chairs added to the back of the room and along the side wall were all full.  I estimate there were at least 35-40 people in there.  I actually stood at the door and greeted people as they entered the room.  Took a lot of them by surprise that way.  That is one of the things that I had been taught to do as a trainer and watching their reactions it definitely paid off.

Then all the different interview panels went well.  I did not have any questions stump me.  It was very obvious that I had done my homework.  Of course, you all knew that. 

The HR person goes on vacation in two weeks, so I will either hear from her prior to her vacation or after.  She did mention that universities move very slowly, but she hoped to let me know in a few weeks. 

All in all, even if I don't get the job, I still feel really good about how the day went down.  It was such an awesome experience.

I am at home. I went to work for an hour this morning. I have nothing to do there today, but a million things that need to be done before we leave tonight so vacation starts early.

have a great vacation.  Where are you going?  I know a beach is involved since there will be surf lessons.  And Yes, I have seen the movie and found it inspiring.

You can tell Ann is on vacation, she was not first on here this morning, and more than likely will be quite scarce this morning.

Robin, hope the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain were fun as usual. 

Took the hotrod to its 2nd car show (1st one was last weekend).  This one was about 45 minutes away.  We had a good time and won a trophy.  Of course, about 1 out of every 3 cars got one. LOL  But still a trophy.  Then on the way home, the brakes started heating up so we had to stop and make an adjustment.  One of our friends was following up and helped out.  Then on the road again to home.  There is some gremlin that Larry has to chase down.  He won't take it that far again until he figures it out.

But all in all a good day.

How about your weekend?

A trophy keeps the "boys" happy.  Hope he can figure out the brake issue.  Sounds like it was a great weekend.

Frank put highway pegs on my motorcycle, so we took a short ride in-between the rain.  visited the farmers market and got goodies, and then we picked up a couple of movies to watch.  I did get some weeding done in the garden, so it was a nice quiet weekend, just what I needed.

Hammers?  on vacation?  Sounds like a very full two houses.  Have a great time.

HA!  I wondered about the rubbing and the hammers! 

Me too!  Makes more sense now.  LOL

Okay, Ghoulies.  I know they talked to three of my references yesterday and will talk to the fourth one on Thursday.  I am dying here.

Funny thing happened today.  I was at HQ and HR talked to me briefly to let me know I was getting a new person and they were transferring one of my other people.  My new persons name was Rich M____l.  And he is coming from Emory University (where I am waiting to hear if they want me or not).  Ha, he would be one of my direct reports and I met him last Tuesday on my big interview day.  Small world.  Well after I left HQ and drove back to the branch, he contacted HR and said that Emory had make him an offer that he could not financially turn down, so he is staying with Emory. 

Now just let Emory offer me the BIG bucks!  Please please please.

Morning Ghoulies!!

Just got back from NYC yesterday and I am trying to catch up from work and laundry from both NYC and the Highland games.

I got to see Kim C in the city. She came out and hung with Jim for the long time it took me to finish the race. It was great to see her. She says hi to all. We need a Ghoulie Pile!

Kendra.. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you. Your interview sounded awesome and I knew you would knock their socks off! Those are great benefits. You MUST get the job. That way you wouldn't be working all the weekends and we could come and see you!

Dee- Yee hah on the trophy. That is fun. hope the gremlin is caught quickly.. those mechanical gremlins are sneaky.

Ann. Good call on the MCM, however, that does not excuse you from meeting up with us when we come up there. That is a LOT of people in the house. I am glad you all got to get in the water and play in the sun. Surfer girl looked awesome!

Okay, I a off. I am going to play with my phone and try to get to post on it while I am away from my computer. I missed my Ghoulies.

Welcome back Robin.

Hubby and I have decided to make an effort to get to the gym at least twice a week together.  We have been paying for the membership and just not using it recently, so we are going to really try and make it a habit again.  So, tonight is gym night.  Woot!

I am trying to get things cleaned up around my office and branch, just in case.  I have booked artists to show on the art wall all the way through next summer.  That will be one thing a new person won't have to worry about right away. 

Yes, Robin, I really hope that the money is right on this job, for I so want to leave here.  I will always love the library system here, but I don't want to see what the new board is going to do, and be in a position where I can't voice an opinion.  Boy oh boy will I be opinionated once I am out of her though.
