We didn't get any triathlon on the tv here.  They said it was going to be on, but it wasn't.

So we are having our official MA BT race on Sunday.  There are 38 BTers racing.  We are having dinner on Sat night.  I am very excited to meet some follow BTers.  Other than Lauren, have you guys been to a race with a lot of BTers?

MSNBC had both tris all the way through at 10am on Mon and Fri.  I was home sick during both.  Small blessing.

Dr.s Appt went alright.  More tests...no info.  I feel better though.

Boston, I haven't seen another BT anything in any of my races.  That's strange since there are other people from South Fla on here, but I haven't met any of them.  I guess I will at the Marathon (right Traci! WOOT!)

How about USA beating Argentina in BBall? They actually make you proud to root for them this year.  Women's Soccer was pretty awesome too. Wms Softball sucked I guess it was bound to happen eventually.

What's up Everyone? I hope we all had good weekends.  I'm feeling much better, but couldn't get out of the rack this morning to go workout.  I brought stuff to workout at lunch.  We'll see how that works.  So, any thoughts on favorite moments from the games?

I know everyone will say Michael Phelps but I think Henry Cejudo was just as good a story. He was a wrestler who grew up poor poor poor.  He shared a bed until he went to the olympic training center and the way he won was really great.  Anyone else have thoughts?

Good morning guys!!   Glad you're feeling better Matt!

My favorite part of the Olympics, besides watching Phelps, was the mens volleyball team winning the gold medal for the first time in 20 years.  I was so happy for the setter Lloy Ball who finally got his gold after being to FOUR Olympics.  YAYYY!!!

The Olympics were bittersweet this year. I think more moments would have gotten to me if I was able to see more of it live. Aside from swimming, most events happened before they were broadcast so I already knew the result. So it was tough to really get into it because you knew what would happen. Overall, I enjoyed the Olympics, but Sydney and Atlanta were still my favs (prob b/c we got to see most of it live).

Question:

I noticed this for a LONG time, but never thought to ask...

I find that when I take a drink on the bike or run that I get really out of breath, even at average paces.  Even if I just take small sips too.  I just get into a regular rythm of breathing, but if I take a drink, it takes at least 30 seconds to get my breathing back to normal.  Anyone else?

No worries!  I can't wait to watch it...  Now I will be less stressed out...  You did me a favor.

So funny, I was 90% sure the US beat Russia before the match, but there was enough uncertainty, that I was almost nausous with stress during that 5 game match!...

I don't think I could handle the Brazil/US match....  Should be fun...

I also found out on a BT thread that they won the gold before I saw the match   It was still REALLY good though!!

I get out of breath sometimes too. It happens on the bike a lot if my nose is stuffed up (which is usually when riding in temps below 80). When on the run, I literally take a short quick shot of water and am generally OK. But sometimes, just the act of pulling the fuel belt bottle out of the strap (or putting it back in) makes my breathing more labored. If I eat a GU or something on the run, I get out of breath.

Good afternoon.  Well  I survived my first Oly yesterday.  DFL in my AG again, but I really don't care.  I finished.  It was a great race.  Race report is up.  I am pretty sore today though.  Think I will take the next couple of days off.

Congrats on the Oly big man! That's a great accomplishment! Remember, DFL >DNF>DNS...

I hear you on the tape-delayed olympics Lauren.  NBC is so smug about it too.  I think if I had to choose one person that I would prefer to just haul off and slap, it would be either Bob Costas or Jimmy Roberts!!!  They spend more time interviewing each other and showing their mugs than showing sports that are showing in the background...

I think London should be a little better.  For one, we'll get to be in roughly the same time warp as Aikidoman is with us... For another, our endurance athletes should do better than they do in these hot hot climates (Ryan Hall for one).

I think it'll be great to watch.  Maybe not to go to since London is freaking expensive when they don't have the olympics, I couldn't imagine the price-gouge that they'll go through during the olympics.

Just got this...

This news just in:

All of the Wal-Marts across Alabama sold out of ammunition
as of yesterday. A reliable source said that one of the
purchasers commented that while Russia may have invaded
Georgia, they sure as hell ain't doin' it to Alabama.

This also happens to me, in fact, I notice my heart rate goes up as much as 10 bpm when I take a drink of water on the bike.

Good thing for me - my HR does NOT go up.  But that surprises me a little because I'm just gasping for air!!!

Not to brag, but what I have REALLY noticed about all my training (other than all the typical stuff) is how FAST I can recover.  I can be hammering on the bike, stop pedaling, and it seems in 30 seconds, I'm in Zone 1.  It's good to know I can recover so quickly!

Hi guys!  I've been in my own little world for awile.  Sorry about being AWOL.  I've got a good reason though.  I'm PREGNANT!!!!!!  Yippee!!!!  Eight weeks along!!!!  My little bonk a month ago was due to the fact that I was pregnant and didn't even know it yet.  Now it all makes sense.  My husband and I are still going to Mount Shasta this weekend.  He is still going to do the triathlon.  I'm going to keep tabs on the heat factor and make a decision on whether I'm going to do the race.  I'm still going to be running as much as possible and teaching my Spinning class.  I'm riding my bike outside until I'm forced to spin on the trainer.  I guess the pool is going to become my new best friend.  It's a day-by-day thing now.  Ta-ta for now!
