I think it is just normal internet forum stuff.  It will never go away.  After spending alot of time on BT it becomes very apparent who knows their stuff and who does not.    Most people on BT you can tell really want to help others with the sport and I have found there are a rare few who want to argue not so constructively.  Understanding its a public message board...its a never ending battle.

This morning I hit up some 6x4' bike intervals @105%FTP with 45 seconds between each.  Because of the small recovery window..I find this similar to a 20 minute test...it hurts!  Today was good as my legs were fresh since I have not cycled since Saturday and running effort yesterday was EZ.  Hoping for an EZ shorty run here later.

Thomas - Hope you feel better...glad the bike fit went well at least.

mndiver - 2012-02-15 8:21 AM Good run this morning. My mis week runs are getting longer and this week they are at 6 miles. Felt like I was getting my breath back better and lungs felt much better. Heart rate is still a little higher than normal but getting better.

Nice job...glad things are coming around for you!

Fred D - 2012-02-15 7:01 AM Hey question for the group, and would love to hear from as many as we can on this one?? What are your thoughts on BT these days of the main forums? I ask in relation to adventure bears thread in tri talk. Is there a problem? Normal forum stuff? Want to know?

It is the same usual BS that goes on when everyone is training and not racing.  For the most part i have been avoiding TT as much as COJ, as the posts usually just peeve me off and i would rather not get excited about them.  Unless you make a point of letting us know about a thread, i usually don't even look at a post unless i know the person who originated it.

I will say, there are a few more DB's on the site lately than normal.  But, Hey...i am an old curmudgeon...NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!!!!!  LOLOLOLO

lol. Not to derail, but since you referenced age, I'm curious about that and number of years doing tri's. I'm 47 and this is year 2 for me. Spent the mid '90's - March 2010 on the couch.

I am 42, this is my 4th full year, i have learned a lot from guys like Fred and Bryan, that is why i sought out Fred for this mentor group. I was 265 lbs when i started, i was as BOP as one could get, my early race reports were the best, that was June of 2008, my first tri was September or so of 2008. 2009 was my first full year and my first half iron distance. 2010 was my first foray into bike racing. 2011 was a break out year in both bike and Triathlon, and 2012 will probably be my last for more than 1 or 2 tri's a year (small local stuff) and anything longer than an Olympic. The friends i have made in this sport in real life will last a lifetime, many from right here on BT.

There are better ways to make your point then the way he and some others post. The wetsuit in the pool thread comes to mind.

No arguing he is knowledgeable, there are a lot of great coaches, athletes and very informed persons on this site. Weed through the junk and learn, or get caught up in the bunk and get frustrated.

Besides, we all know that swimming in Tri is over rated, its all about the bike and pedaling pretty circles

Ducks and runs for cover.....

I agree with that Fred.  Swimming is a great conditioning tool.  I get a lot of conditioning out of an hour of swimming

We all have our strengths and weakness in the sport.

Exploit your strengths and strengthen your weakness to find the balance.  That is my job as a triathlete.  I got a lot of work.

Hey, I worked hard on my pretty little circles...  But I do not shower before getting into the pool.  And I do some form of a flip turn.

James, i am sorry, i shoulda put that in the red sarc font, i was poking fun at all the threads about pedaling efficiency and pedaling circles, it was meant as tongue and cheek.

My bad Bro, sorry

Meh, same old forum stuff.  I only skimmed the thread, but it seemed to me, a little bit, that Suzanne had a bit of an attitude in the thread as well.  As Fred mentioned, no one is innocent.  Some are just more guilty than others (H2O Killer....   he does have some good info, and he was getting a little friendlier, but he seems to have to get his jabs in).

Sorry to butt into your thread Fred... but if (a) it exists in 2013 and (b) you win the bike at MV, you'd better defend.  BTW, i am trying to sponsor beer.

Hey everybody I got some really GREAT news today.

My one month post treatment blood work came back and all is good.

What this means is that I am now at 99% chance of being cured.  I have two more blood work checks to go with last being in July.  If the last is good I am cured.  The first blood work post treatment was the biggest milestone to say.  So my chances went from 95% to 99% cured of something I have been battling since 2010.

Thank you ALL so very much for your prayers and support.  My Gods grace has once again shown to be great in answering your prayers.

Now train on!
