Hubby and I have decided to make an effort to get to the gym at least twice a week together.  We have been paying for the membership and just not using it recently, so we are going to really try and make it a habit again.  So, tonight is gym night.  Woot!

Morning Kendra!

Good for you for going to the gym! Have fun.

Yes, Robin, I really hope that the money is right on this job, for I so want to leave here.  I will always love the library system here, but I don't want to see what the new board is going to do, and be in a position where I can't voice an opinion.  Boy oh boy will I be opinionated once I am out of her though.

That is nice of you to get things in order. I would think you would do no less. So many folks do just the opposite, though.

I hear you on being "free to speak your mind". Hope you can ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning, Ghoulies!  I finally feel like I am starting to get all my stuff done for the car show our club is hosting this Saturday and for vacation.  I was really beginning to wonder if I would.

All reservations and dog arrangements are made for vacation.  I just want to type it all up with phone #s and confirmation #s for hotels, tours, etc.  We met our dog sitter last night.  I think that will work out.  She is going to come back Sunday afternoon again to spend a little time with the dogs before we leave Wednesday.  She doesn't live too far away and will come over several times a day to take care of the dogs.  She takes classes at the local college and on-line.  So after her class, she will come over with her laptop, log on to our network and do her homework while the dogs have some time outside.  She will also walk them.  She is not going to spend the night, but will come early morning and late evening also.  Hope this all works out.

Funny thing happened today.  I was at HQ and HR talked to me briefly to let me know I was getting a new person and they were transferring one of my other people.  My new persons name was Rich M____l.  And he is coming from Emory University (where I am waiting to hear if they want me or not).  Ha, he would be one of my direct reports and I met him last Tuesday on my big interview day.  Small world.  Well after I left HQ and drove back to the branch, he contacted HR and said that Emory had make him an offer that he could not financially turn down, so he is staying with Emory.

Now just let Emory offer me the BIG bucks!  Please please please.

I would think that was a good sign that they are willing to pay to have good staff.  I sure hope it comes thru for you!

I will have to sit down when I am not frazzled and play with it. It is just a matter of getting used to the new phone.

Hi Dee!

Getting ready for vacation will wear you out! Hope the dog-sitter works out. It sounds like a good arrangement.

What kind of phone did you get?  I'm thinking we will be getting new phones before the  year is out, and I don't know what to do.  Stay with a iphone or go with something else, like the galaxy.

I have the Galaxy. I really like it. I have never used the i-phone so I have no comparison. This one seems to do everything it does. I just need to get used to it. My old phone was only semi-smart and both of them are smarter than I am. It is a big learning curve

Good afternoon Ghoulies!I am feeling fried, from the sun, and from spending the week with so many people so I'm hanging out in the shade of the deck this afternoon watching movies on my iPad. The kiddos were all just in the water so I did watch them play. This morning there were rays all around us. They were pretty small, less than a foot across but they were freaking the kids out. Along with the rays we've seen lots of dive bombing pelicans, dolphins, small sharks, and a turtle. The waves were pretty rough the beginning of the week. Yesterday and today there has hardly been anything. I'm glad Keri surfed when she did. She put a surfboard on her Christmas list. The told me there are only 160 sleeps until Christmas so I better get shopping. Kendra - sending juju for the jobRobin - I will be at the MCM my bil and nephew are running and my sister is running the 10k I will come cheer you all onDee - enjoy your vacation!

Morning Ghoulies.

I am on the road to day to observe some sampling. This evening we are going to Black Mountain to pick up the packet for the Ride to Farm ride the hubbie and I are doing tomorrow. It will be the first time he is on the bike in several months... since before surgery. It will be a fun ride!

Celtic music at a friends house on Sunday after a swim and a bike with a friend that is doing the Lake Lure tri. I just found out she is doing this as her first ever tri (another adult onset athlete) and she wants me to do it with her. I may.. or may not. Home town racing is not my favorite. Anyway, a person to train with will be fun.

Someday I will get out and do some yardwork, but it isn't looking good for this week ;(

Have great days all!

Oh, and Happy FFFFriday!

I am so glad to hear that Jim is back on the bike.  Woot!

Fun to have another convert to Tri's.  I will be up there that weekend, just not sure how it will go between Lake Lure and Marshall.  But I will be there.

No news on Friday, so I am thinking I may not hear anything for another week or two for the HR person is either on vacation this week or next.  I am going with the assumption it is this week, so that I don't think about it every day.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Getting up and going to work this morning was ROUGH!

Caleb started basketball camp last night. He rolled his ankle twice. The second time he screamed and hit the floor when it happened. He saw the trainer, who wants to see him again first thing this morning. I had to help him walk to the car, into the house, and to the shower last night. He said it hurts worse this morning than last night. He may be done for the week.

Kendra, Keri totally rocked the surf lesson!

She caught the second wave she rode all the way in to the beach. She got rolled a few times paddling out into the deeper water. They were using 8' boards, and  she would go over the waves sideways, couldn't get straightened out, and get rolled. Her teacher grabbed her, and the other girls in her group a couple of times to straighten them out.

The beach they were surfing on was a public beach, and there were people around. There was a little girl, whose sister was in the class, playing in the water in front of the surfers. Keri was coming in one time and the girl was right in her path. She jumped off of her board so she didn't run over the little girl, and when she did so she hurt her foot. I went over to her and was checing her out. Her teacher came over to make sure she was ok. When she was heading back out, he told me before he left that she was the toughest kid he's ever met and he loved having her there in class. Then he grabbed her board and pulled her back into the deep water and helped her catch a wave.

She said on the way back to the truck after class that she wants to do the 3 day class next summer.

Dang, I wrote a bunch and it didn't post

Kendra, I still have my fingers crossed. It usually takes a while for the paperwork to go through. Breathe. You got this

Ann, you had such a great weekend, I am not surprised the re-entry into 'real world" was hard. Hope Caleb's ankle gets better soon. Maybe he needs tape on a regular basis? Keri is indeed an animal, she has great focus, too.

Dee, hope the vacation is fun.

I have a million chores today. One of my newish friends here in town, a 50 something year old. Has decided to do the Lake Lure triathlon. I swam with her on Sunday. Wow, someone to train with. How fun is that? she almost has me persuaded to do the race.. almost. I have until next week when the price goes up again to register. I need to focus on the MCM but if I get my act together, I can do it. I just never had my act together before

Kendra, we have a room for you here whether you and Frank stay or not for the Olympiad weekend. Ann.. you need to come down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robin I just don't think I'm going to make it down this summer. I had to burn to 2 before vacation when I was sick. I'm running pretty low in the paid time off right now.

I just realized over the weekend that school starts in a month. It is starting over a week earlier this year than it has in the past. I need to start getting school supplies and taking the kiddos shopping for clothes and shoes. I'm not buying Caleb pants until at least October. I swear he is taller every morning.

We were talking while we were on vacation about next year either leaving a few days early, or coming home a few days later and combining our trip to the beach with a visit to you. Of course it all depends on which week his family picks to go to the beach and what your summer plans are. I'll let you know as soon as they decide, but that won't be until December or January.

Does his family go to the same beach each summer, or do they pick a different location each time?
