Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I use the Adidas Adistar shoes and they are great. I haven't had any difficulties with my feet in these shoes. As a matter of fact I find that now when I put on my old Adidas cross trainers runners that my toes hurt if I wear them for the day. I am an Adidas fan from way back and no that does not make me an athletic supporter! |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I had one of the Asics Gel versions and switched to the brooks Glycerin, honestly I can't tell much of a difference really, though I am only up to running 7 miles at a time so will see when I start my 1/2 mary and marathon training. Hehe, Atheletic supporter... |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL So here are my 2008 totals so far
Should hit 1k on the bike today There are some 10 weeks left in the year So I need about 3KM per week swimming to hit 100k and only 4.5 miles per week to hit 300, started logging my workouts the last week in March of this year. Which should hopefully have me end up at 1k miles, 100,000M and 300M for the year, need to really pick up those running miles next year. Feel pretty good about myself with those numbers from really doing nothing at all last year.

I'd have to say those numbers look pretty good. In fact, they're very similar to my totals - you've got me in actual bike miles, but we're basically even in bike time (bike, spin, mt bike). I started logging workouts in February and my totals for last year would have been all goose eggs. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Nice prgress there, your bike pace is really good, you swim about as fast as I do (sorry about that) and run gets faster, eventually. I think it was a full year before I finally started getting even a hair fater on the runs. So like last month. My 13 year old son may well be able to beat me in the 1 mile, but not the 2 mile or farther. Luck with that Oly coming up next month. Edited by Baowolf 2008-10-22 10:59 AM |

Pro 4100 Wherever the trail takes me, WA. | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL We started this group in April, and MY GOODNESS everyone has come so far!! Hopefully everyone has had some GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS!!
For me this year I think that I have become a stronger cyclist, and a MUCH better runner (this was a goal of mine this year).... Last year to run an 8:30 mile was me pushing it....
Congrats to all... |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I know that I have come much further than I originally anticpated when I started training in January. I have run, biked and swam farther than ever before and I still want to do more. I didn't have a specific target at the beginning of the year for times but I have been able to exceed my original expectations. It has been a great journey up to this point and I am looking forward to even greater results next year. Over the winter I am going to continue to work on all of the disciplines. I think sometimes that it has been easier for me in some aspects as I did not have a previous background in any of the three disciplines we now do. I have been able to develope consistently in all the events and not get frustrated because I was good in one and not the others. (not that I am great in any of the disciplines... yet). What a great fealing also to have my family (extended as well) as hear them talk about what a great accomplishment I have achieved. I was even able to inspire my nephew to take up the sport and then go on to run his first marathon. This has been a great support group even if all of you other guys picked on Tracy. Everyone knows I would never taking part in Tracy bashing. :-) All I have learned over the past months cannot be put into words. Suffice it to say I don't know if I would have come as far as I did without everyones support, assistance and encouragement. |

Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I completely agree that there are some impressive accomplishments within this group and it is all very inspiring. When I started training, I just thought that doing a tri sounded like fun - not sure why, I didn't like running, hadn't ever swam laps/distance and didn't have a road bike. Then one day I said it out loud, luckily only my wife heard me Boy was she surprised when I bought some swim trunks (as opposed to the board shorts I'd always worn) and started swimming at the gym. Now I've done a couple tri's, finished a half marathon and am trying to figure out if I can squeeze in enough training with a new addition to the family to do a HIM in September . I've learned a lot from this group and have definitely felt encouragement and support as well. Thank you for that! Here's hoping a year from now our thread is at the top of the 'mentor archive' forum- Cheers.
btw - I felt the baby move for the first time today, very exciting. We find out on Tuesday if we're having a boy or a girl.

Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Matt that is so exciting!!! I too agree with how much this group's support has helped me in my training. To be honest there have been so many times when I didn't want to get out there but I was embarassed to have blank training logs so I was guilted into it. That is a good thing. I talk about BT and you guys all the time. I've even had friends ask me to post their questions to the group. Being involved in our group has really changed the triathlon experience for me. Even though this is an individual sport it is something I can share with all of you and it makes it much more personal. AND I WOULD BE VERY SAD IF THE TRACY BASHING EVER STOPPED - BRING IT ON!!! Where would you guys be if you didn't have someone to pick on? I guess you would still be talking about Steve's nose zit! |

That is where I saw the article... Was reading Jodi's Blog. Crazy! Please don't let us know what kind of good deal you got on the computrainer.... We have 2 of them, and I don't need to know what "good deals" are out there, and frustrate me!!! Congrats though! There is a lot you can do with them!!!!!!!! |

Well I didn't want to jinx myself since I don't physically have it in hand and verified that it actually works. Craigslist search tools are very nice, you can find things at a much cheaper price from ones in smaller towns vs. the big DC, Seattle, Atlanta, etc ones. |
