wgraves7582 - 2010-02-11 12:15 PM I have a Ghoulie Question of the Day:

When Y2K came upon us, did anyone get extra food & supplies out of fear for the world's computer systems crashing?

I know this might surprise some of you but I did not

Nope.  No food or supply stashing.  I did, however, have an absolutely fabulous New Years Eve.  Got all gussied up.  Had a studly date. I even stayed up to watch the ball drip.  Of course, that was 10 years ago.  Now I'm usually asleep before 10pm.

That was my lunch time drop in. Back to painting. Yep, I am taking the day off to paint while the DH is out of town.
I'll stop by next break!

Hmm.  Would have to find some boxes in the basement for that.  Pre-digital.  You know that is a project I've never had the energy to take on.  I've got boxes of photo's many of which could be tossed, but some which should be preserved digitially.  Which includes any of me with a good looking guy.  Maybe a snow week would be enough to take that on.

I scored a Pearl Izumi cycling jersey off of bonktown for $14.99 this morning. WOOHOO!

Score! That site has some pretty crazy deals. It's a good thing I'm not into cycling bibs and Castelli sweaters, or I'd blow my whole paycheck there!

Great score. now I have to google bonktown. as if I didn't have enough to catch up on.

www.bonktown.com and it's sister site www.chainlove.com both have crazy deals on cycling gear, but each item is only up for 30-60 minutes and then they go on to the next dela. It's kinda like an auction. Also, chainlove seems to be mostly MTB stuff, so I don't check it too often, but I have a feeling someone around here does....

Bill....

I have another Ghoulie Question:

Have any of you ever had a stress fracture? I've been having persistent pain on my left leg, and it feels like it's between my calf muscle and tibia, with the pain sometimes spreading all around my upper calf and shin area.

I'll be extremely disgruntled if I have a stress fracture, because there's a HM in 3 months I really want to run. Still, I definitely do NOT want to do anything that will cause more harm in the long run. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ghoulies!

Nope. I kept saying it was all a bunch of fluff and nothing would happen. I know people who did though.

I had one WWAAAAAAAYYYYY back in my high school days. It was so long ago I don't really remember the symptoms I was having.

I would say if you are having persistent pain you should go get it checked out so you don't really mess something up and ruin your whole season.

Our power has gone off twice in the last few minutes. It is only off for a few seconds then it comes back on. If I disappear this is probably why.

At one time I thought I did in my foot but it was not to be (thankfully!).  I took a couple of days off and went back to running slowly and it was fine.

Not shinsplints right?

No, it doesn't feel like shin splints. This is more behind the tibia, not on the shin. Grr...

In that case I must belong on the cover of GQ, because it's been one of those nights/days. One thing's for sure though, I'm just about sick of being told I'm "too nice" and that my generally diplomatic personality is some kind of fault. I'll check in with you guys a little later.

ceilidh - 2010-02-11 7:22 AM So what we had yesterday... if I can remember my scanning is :
Katie lost 2 of something  but is NOT looking to get them back . (Congrats Katie)
Wood peckers pf the piliated variety were spotted, motorcycles discussed ( my DH had a BMW, too), flying bikes (that one is odd), red bikes (my choice), Tom cooking dinner for the Ghoulies and running away with Stacie. Snowshoing and some with too much snow and some with not enough and everyone loves their kids- especially the dancing singing ones and the ones fresh from Disney but enough is enough and they need to continue with their education asap.

I think that is it.

Thanks for the summary.  I've been out of the village loop for a day and a half.

Although it seems today was a little quiet.
