Only fair to share! So I told John this story, but had to share it with you all.....1 1/2 years ago, the man's company was approached by PUMA Community College In Tucson to install a product which basically uses VOIP to broadcast alerts/messages/etc. The College was concerned about a certain student and had an urgent need for it......Singlewire installed the software 24 hours later. Eerie, right? |

Yeah back on track and hopefully gearing up for my March race soon. Good luck Glen and Kyla! Kick butt, run fast and have fun! Working on my race reports and had to laugh at some of the pics from our trip. Since my daughter was sick on Tues. and missed our lunch at Cinderella's Castle w/ the princesses, the princesses were subjected to pictures w/ my son. He had been to the Pirate's League for a full pirate makeover. He looked possessed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dalessit/5352512864/in/set-72157625689858145/ I love all the photos. How did you like Hogsmeade and Hogworts? Hope everyone is feeling better soon. |

Only fair to share! No hills (or long, high bridges)! And I pushed harder from the start....but by mile 9, I paid for it....pushed too hard, too soon. Did go from 10:30 pace to 10:02 or so. Results are not final, this is from my Garmin. I was really hoping for a sub 10 pace given the flat course, but just didn't happen today. There were quite a few trying to BQ today since it is a fast course. |

Expert 670![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() metro west, MA | Subject: RE: swbkrun with us!!! - ClosedGreat job Glen! I hope people are not getting too tired of my questions, but I have another. What do people think about buying new versus used bikes? My 23 yo road bike does not fit me. The top tube is way too short and even with a very long stem it's just not comfy. It also needs work. I got a bike fit done and know what bikes I'm looking at. I can buy new for b/w $2k-2500 or I found a 2007 used cervelo P2c with the correct dimensions for $1100. I'm torn. Do I buy used b/c I'm still very new to the sport and beyond my goal of doing an IM before I turn the big 4-0 I have no idea how much I'll ride, or go new b/c you never really know about the condition of the used bikes and yI'll be able to recoup $ if something happens and I decide to sell. I did a serach and sounds like most of BT says used. I'm also leaning that wasy as we're in the market to buy a home so retaining as much $ for our downpayment is important (but I also get in the grand scheme of things $1k-1500 isn't going ot help much on that but it could pay for our move). TIA. Edited by mighty mom 2011-01-17 6:57 AM |

TIA. Nothing wrong at all with buying used. If you can get a fit before you start looking to give you an idea of what bikes you should be looking at, that would be the best way to start. Some bikes as you pointed out are long/short some tall/short, Small in one brand means something completely different in another. Once you decide on a frame, if it's a full bike the components will be the next cost factor. And if you do buy a "good" bike it will still have a decent resale value if you do decide to sell it. |

Psst. Look ^^^. ;P HAHA sorry, I was skimming sans coffee. P2C is a good bike with a good resale value, if you decide to upgrade next year you'll probably be able to sell it for pretty close to what you bought it for. Depending on how many miles are on the components you might not need to change anything out other than chain, tubes & tires so it should be ready to ride. |
