I almost got ran over by one on the sidewalk in front of my house today. I get that there are lots of toys out there (probably some of which my kids own) that can be argued as lacking merit. BUT, these stupid cars are one thing that directly take the place of a productive activity, such as riding bikes, pulling around wagons, running around. Take a kid that might otherwise be active, and instead they are just sitting down moving a steering wheel, putting dents in real cars and running over people. Do 4 year olds (and younger) really need to practice "driving"? Rant over. |

Tony - gland to hear you've worked out what's going on with your back, that's the main thing, now you'll have to allow your body to get used to the new setup. Also, love the "food on my dog" thing, we do that to our dog sometimes, being a Labrador it nearly kills him but he stays still! Good luck to the racers! I'm hoping the Sufferfest sessions have had a rapid effect otherwise tomorrow might be unpleasant after my recent slacking... David - good in some ways that it's gout but there's some evidence that gout is linked to heart disease so make sure you're getting your lipids etc checked, maybe consider a good health check? |

Race is July 8. We're staying at the Fairfield Inn - needed to get 2 rooms, dang kids are to big to share a double bed! And no, I haven't entered yet.....probably do that while I'm sulking through the Superbowl. Jeff, Zach & I are doing the HIM, not sure if Ty will be able to race. |

Finished the 13.1 in 1:55:24, and then slogged in the CD, There were 3 2 mile sets in there, Z2, Z3 and 10K pace. The 3rd one damn near wrecked me. Glad to be still now. |
