Hi Scott - well maybe it will mean yuo focus on work at work? Could be a positive... I would hate it if I lost BT at work... but it might make me scarily efficient!

Morning, Nibbs!

It's the first day of school (where I teach) and I feel giddy, like a school girl.

I don't actually teach until tomorrow, but there's always sooo much good mojo at the start of school. People excited. New faces. Sharpened pencils. Oh, wait - they all use laptops, but I have new sharpened pencils.

On tap for today...

Work
Take Younger Monkey to meet her teacher and see the school (she's starting preK two days a week where Elder Monkey is)
Take Younger Monkey to a special Mommy-and-Me lunch
Back to work
Hit the gym (maybe an indoor brick or maybe a swim/run?)
Afterwork rush (dinner, walk dog, get ready for tomorrow)
Crash on the couch and watch something we Tivo'd during the Olympics...our DVR is full!

and tomorrow I get to teach! YAHOO!

No.  I assume I passed since no one has told me otherwise.  I think they're usually good about telling you if you failed, not so much if you pass.  It's strange.

Good afternoon, Nibbs.

Another exciting day at work. Asthma attack during the arthritis class. "Do you have your inhaler?" "No. It's at home." Not gonna do a lot of good there And then I got stormed out of my workout. Only had 350 more yards to go. Yes, Heather. It is definitely Monday!

At first I didn't know what you meant by "stormed out of your workout".  I was picturing people pushing you out of the pool or the gym.  That sounds funnier than being rained out.

Happy Monday to ALL!!!!

Okay Pam, I can't talk... I forgot to use my inhaler before an OWS a week or so back...

We have officially closed registration at 109 entries (112 people, two teams), and the phone just keeps ringing...  I'll be anxious to see how many people end up at the other "mini" tri on Labor Day (ours is the Sat before
I know 109 seems small, but given it's our first tri we host and we only have six lanes in the pool... we're kind of nervous about trying to start everyone at one time... I'm thinking we do three waves of 24 and my co-worker is thinking two of 36 (plus we'll have the kids tri afterwards, 35 entries)
I want to keep it as simple as possible b/c we're not doing chips and splits only overall time...

Well, I must geaux now and finish entering all the e-mail addresses to send out pre-race e-mail today (or tomorrow)

BTW... I got my official time from Sat...

2:04:31....
27:52/3:55/51:08/3:05/38:55

Most T's were in the 1:30 to 2:00 range so I definitely have soem improvement there...
Obviously some time can be taken from my swim, my bike really should have been about 3 minutes better (can't forget to get f drlr tuned) and my run, well, I guess I should actually run next time...

So this fall I'm going to design my own custom plan (using PT accessed sites) and my goal is to shed as much as 15 minutes (ok, at least 10 to 12) off on this same race next year.

NOW back to work....

Hi Nibbs!

Heather - love the ambitious training goals - 100 sounds like plenty of people for the first triathlon you are running

Jen - yay for new shoes (and VACATION)

Pam - sorry you got rained out - but at least it wasnt at the beginning of the workout!

New running shoes = good.

Uncomfortable shoes = bad. I am so bummed about having to wear shoes tomorrow. I've worn flipflops for the entire summer (except my running and biking shoes, of course). I don't know if my feet will put up with having to wear shoes all day.

Of course, I don't actually wear real shoes in any case - usually leather clogs with my suits because I'm oh-so-unfashionable. Maybe I can get away with flipflops with my suits? Or maybe not.

Well technically the closing of the Olympics was in the morning just you didnt get the broadcast until that night... so it doesnt really work as an excuse for him...

What am I saying... NO WAY is that a legitimate excuse in any situation! But it did make me giggle!

Please no suits and flip flops.  Please.

Do you wear Danskos with your suit?  That seems to be a common professor thing. I wear Danskos all the time since they are comfy and cover my feet completely.
